off opiates

I want to get of percocet!can i start with methadone??

Are you asking if you can get on methadone to get off perks? How long have you been abusing the perks and how much do you take a day?

methaone is a bit drastic for percs perhaps..be sure what u r doing here..like kim said...how much were u using and how long?

I was also addicted to pain killers and started taking methadone to get off em. Once u start takin it, it is soooooooooo hard to get off of it!!! I would recommend taking Suboxone instead to get off percs. It's safer and easier to get off of. I mean, methadone does work but it makes u tired, sweatty and it makes u gain wieght. I have a few friends who went on Suboxone and none of that happened. They all say it works too! Good Luck 2 U!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to second what worried said about methadone being a bit drastic for perks and making sure you know what you're getting yourself into.My drug of choice was vicodin and I got on methadone.I compare my going from vikes to methadone much like jumping from the frying pan into the fire.BE CAREFUL and BE INFORMED!!!!!!!

but sub is not always the answe either..and perhaps some were off of it fast...but if not it is a deadly wd as well...''neither sub nor methadone is a hard wd if u use it for a short time as i have done both but never addicted....take a look at ur dose..or let the forum know..educate urself on the options..as a rule people who r still taking drugs with tylenol in them//like percs or tabs//are not too far gone..cos if they were their liver would be fried..not saying there is not such a thing cos u do see 300 mg hydro users etc...but as a rule heavy users who may need either one of the maintenence drugs/sub or methaonde/have graducated to ocycontine etc...drugs without/or very  low in tylenol content..another facor//which leads most here to assume ur habit is not extreme is it is very uncomfortable to snort tylenol and virtually impossible to shoot it..so in the true addiction world u r young...and swithcing to a big gun like sub or methadone is probaly//now i am saying probably just going off ur stated doc/is a bit extreme...educate urself..if u can not do it any other way//get clean i mean//then take a,look..what have u tried so far?  as far as getting clean?:  there is no easy way out...just be safe
