on methadome and doing interferon

Im on week five interferon treatment and on methadone daily pick up for drug abuse, but now doing the treatment the pressures on that i cant use or as often as i feel guilty . Last week i took two valium and couple days later got ph call from my nurse wanting me to repeat my bloods i was so scare id done something , but no affect if anything my liver count had gone down so the big question is can u use drugs while on interferon its so hard being a addict and at a stand still im scare confused please dont judge me for being honest

If the valium is prescribed, take it as prescribed. Interfueron is tough enough. I read about lots of people on interfueron who are also on the done. Otherwise, it's not a good idea to take benzos and done. It got me into a lot of trouble, but then again, I wasn't on interfueron.

I was in the clinical trial at Mayo that established the interferon / ribavarin protocol that turned into the Pegasys / Pegatron therapy. I dont know if I could have finished the chemo without some other drugs. The interferon is a rough rascal, but its survivable and it does work. I was still undetectable at last PCR labs....treated about 12 years ago - Take the valium and methadone. And good luck to you..

I don't know anything about the interferon.I did take methadone though.I just wanted to let you now that no one here is going to judge you,we all appreciate your honesty.Someone will come along who will be able to help you out more then I can so hang in there.You've come to a wonderful place for help and support....Peace....Kim
