opana er withdrawal

I have read some of the older posts on this subject... new to this.. I was rear ended 2.5 yrs ago while sitting at a red light, shoulder surgery,  neck procedure (neck procedure didn't work) shoulder not perfect but better,  not to mention the countless PT Dr appts. Etc... fast forward, nothing was working for my pain Dr tried it all ar least 10 other dif meds. About 3-4 months ago he gave me Opana 10mg 2x a day.  Amazingly it worked... But I want off of it!!! So not thinking and not really thinking it was a big deal I stopped taking it almost 3 days ago,  WELL ... it just dawned on me today why I have been so sick.. chills, sweats, cant sleep, crying non stop today for no reason, anxiety, diarrea, stomach cramps, super bad headache... I have read tappering is best,  BUT.. now I am already off it and Don't want to start taking it again.. my hubby is not happy that I didn't let him know what I was doing and that I didn't consult with my Dr... So now I realized I am going through withdrawal.. can anyone give me some advice to help ease the withdrawal symptoms, prefer over the counter,  I do have some non narcotic left over meds that Dr prescribed me before Opana,  will that help (not with pain but Withdrawal) .. thanks

I've accidentally put myself into withdrawal before, too.  I agree with the above advice that by day 5 you may notice improvement - ability to sleep, less anxiety, less tummy trouble, and it only gets better from there!
You are SO CLOSE to being over the symptoms, just tough it out for a couple more days :)

I agree with everything Vickie said above and ad that day 3 can be the roughest for many. Most feel better after day 5 so stay the course cus your almost there.

Hi there- Well, you've made it pretty far and actually you may be over "the hump."   So, that's good!

Try treating each thing symptomatically...Imodium for diarrhea, Alteril is a great OTC sleep med, get some Epsom salts for a hot bath; very soothing, and be sure to take in enough fluid.  Take frequent rest breaks but try to accomplish something every day; no matter how small.

Keep in touch with any questions!
