Vic- Your No Spring Chic....I'm no Spring Chicken.  HeHe!

I've watched my 3 yrs old grandson for a few hours while in detox before...my hats off to those who do that everyday and are detoxing.  That's gotta be rough.

OK Yeslife4me..I thought I was the "no spring chic"..All the she said is what I went through to..I do have the highest respect for the ones that do get out and work, take care of kids, and do a work out..That is one of the biggest keys to recovery for both mental and physical...I was able to just go for the first 40 or so days then the weakness set in..I however went c/t from three meds at once..So you should be able to bounce back very well..Just hang tight and ride the wave..You will walk in the sand again with the biggest smile. It becomes a whole new life and the blessing just flow when we give our life back to our God...

I understand.  It's hard to stay positive when you don't feel good.  It feels like all your nerves are on their ends.   I'd be freezing one minute, laughing the next, then find myself weepy.  It's all part of it.  All that stuff that was numbed is coming to life.  Welcome to feeling again!!

I never hard too big of a problem with sleeping (sorry!).   I had xanax and ambien when I went through it, so I think that helped.  I still slept less and tossed and turned more than usual.  I'd wake up hot, then be freezing, etc.  The worst of that seemed to pass by the 3rd of 4th day.  After that I noticed my energy coming back in bits and spurts each day.  Some people bounce right back and are out running and working out at the gym in the first few days.  I don't know how they did it!   It took all I had just to go to work and sit all day.  LOL!    But of course, I've been on a 5 yr battle and a 47 yr old woman that is no spring chicken anymore.   It's true what they say about age and length of time using.  I used everything except H and have detoxed from every bit of it at one point or another, so I feel your pain.

You WILL get better and back to your old self and really appreciate life much more.  You won't take the little things for granted.  Time passes so quickly and when using days pass into weeks, then months, then years and before you know it, you wonder where the time went.   Keep going forward...it's the only way and NEVER look back.  :)

so I'm trying to stay positive. I'm talking to my bf and family about how I feel and things I need from them. I think the key is to stay positive. my mom wants me to go to rehab, but I am a hairstylist and if I go away for s month I willlose my paycheck. my clients are my paycheck! I hate that this is happening to me and I just want to be better for myself and my loved ones. I agree about the pot, it does make me feel more tired, but I think I've had this mind set where I want to stay asleep until this all goes away! Itakemelatonin at night and the pot to help me sleep, but it doesn't work at all. I think of I could get good sleep I could beat this much easier. however I can't take pm med like Tylenol pm bc I almost feel hung over the next morning. I don't need that on to of wd. the melatonin only helps for a few hours then im back up again. god I just want my life back!! I want to have money again and be productive for myself like I used to be.  Thank you all for your support!! It'struly helped me out a ton! just knowing that im not alone makes it much better. so, how long you think until I get energy back and could feel like myself again. iswhat I've done to myself permanent??

Each withdraw can be very different.  Being tired, lack of sleep, energy, etc are typical complaints.  The first few days the vitamins and minerals are helping to replenish your drained system, so you won't notice them as much, but they are helping you.  Day 3 is big because that means you should be moving past the worst of it.  Just hang on!!    The pot always made me more tired, so maybe less of that and more hot baths and showers instead.  Try going for a walk, get those natural endorphins going.  Exercise helps get the toxins out and your blood flowing.  It will help you sleep a little better too.   When I would get RLS...moving, moving, moving was all I could do outside of the hot baths and showers.   I would go on walks with my ipod.   Can you do something like that?

Hi again..I got lucky the second time around..I beat the RLS..I have seen alot of RLS pills at the stores...Also you can take the hot baths with the magnz salt..It helps draw the poison out of the body..When I was aching real bad I would do the bath and go get under a heating blanket. You are doing a great job..Time is the Healer..Min by Min and Day by Day..It just gets better..Go look at the posting around here, someone just posted about the RLS..It has some great information on it...You just keep up the good work...Do you have any Melatonin for sleep? I took this with all the ds, cal, and magnz at night..It helped alot..Try to stay away from the stimulants right now...

thank you guys a lot! this is day 3 but I didn't sleep last night really at all. I think I kind of feel a tiny bit better today. I mean, my whole body hurts, I'm sweating like crazy, and my legs are very restless! I take vitamins to help with energy, but they are not working at all!! I'm also smoking pot. I read on a lot of posts that it can help elevate some of wd. ittruly helps with the physical wd. What can I do for the restless body? Ihave no ins, no, money, andI just want to feel better! I know I'm not alone in this, and that isassuring but I just feel really alone...

If you are at 48 hours clean this is the worst of the wd. Day by day you will get stronger physically & emotionally. You can't cut off your entire family as they are addicts just like you. Just let them know you are getting clean and are taking a little break from them. Tell the bf to keep the pills away from you and under no circumstances is he to give you any. Try out an AA or NA meeting for the support you will need. You can do this! Read all these posts on ur down time and post as well. This gang can really help with the wd advice. Good luck!

It seems to be slow right now..I can say that is a tough one..I had to cut ties from all my friends that use..I have known one for about 40yrs..I am no spring chic..and this was a tough one..They only call me once in awhile..I will not even talk to them when they are using..You have to stay Focused on you and you alone..Do you have a DR that you can talk too..You have to be up front and honest about this addiction..They can give you a taper plan off of the meds you are on..I know most well work with you..I will be straight forward here..The boyfriend having the meds around you is a big bad trigger.. He is going to have to leave them far, far, away from you and not give in..You can stick around this site for support but you should also go find a AA/NA program...The detox is so short lived compared to the years we used..I know you can do it..You just have to stay away from these people that use until you get some time behind you..This is a very serious disease and it is alot of work to stay clean..You have to do a whole physic change..You are young..You can bonce back quicker..Do not waste your future..You just keep us updated..If you decide to do this we can give you alot of support while you are in the detox state and after....OK

Ok so I have beentaking anything I can get from perc 5-10 roxys vicodin youname it!  and I'mup to taking around 20-30 pills a day! I'mgoing on 48 hrs of nothing and that's exactly how I feel... like nothing. I'mnot suicidal or anything, but I just feel so horrible and I have no support! Not from my bf my mom is a horrible alcoholic and my sister had been using drugs for years. How do I stay clean when mywhole family uses?? Do I cut them off? My bf gets a script bc he broke his ankle a while back, I have been taking most of them. I've spent close to 3000 jus this month alone on pills! I need to do this for myself but I'm not quite sure how!??

Hi you have two post going on..It is alright..What were you on and how many a day..Like MGs a day...I can say it will pass..You just have to give time for the meds to get out of the body..Magnz is a great detoxer..Keep yourself hydrated and get some things to keep the electrolytes up..Get some very good vit/min..There is soooo much to this disease then just the detox state..I am going to bump this up...You can take the baths with the magnz salt too..We have a ton of experienced people on here that have alot of onsite too on what you use to help..Just Take One Step at a time..One Minute at a time..The detox state is so short lived compared to the years we used..OK..
May God be With You..
