opiate withdraw

by buddyholly021, Jul 03, 2009 02:56AM
Hey, I'm new to the forum and I have been abusing opiates for several years. I started with oxycontins then progressed to herion. I have kicked chasing the dragon and am back on Oc's but trying to kick them as well. I have tried everything from cold turkey to self medicating with other "recipes" but my biggest problem is with muscle tremors and feeling like I have to constantly move my arms and legs. I don't know what to do about it, it keeps me from relaxing during the day and from falling asleep at night. Help Please!

Hey, Welcome to the forum.  There's a few things you can try for the restless arms & legs but unfortunately nothing seems to take it completely away.......only time. If you can get Clonodine from a doctor it will help. It's a blood pressure med but it's prescription only. Also hot baths or showers and some exercise. Some people say a muscle relaxer will also help. You could also try Highlands Restless leg pills . You can get them at WalMart.  Hang in there and try and get through this. It will really be worth it.

I took lots of xanax for the RLS when coming off of oxy. That, and soma both helped a good bit. Just be careful not to develop another addiction.

Hey Welcome to the forum, you will met lots of wonderful people who will help and support you. congrats on kicking herion! way to go. allaboutmary gave you good advise, one of those should help. Someone else also said they wrapped their legs with ace bandage and that help. Walking  helps mine alot. even if you can only walk around your yard for a few minutes. good luck. pm me anytime you need to talk
