opiate withdrawl(withdrawal)

Hello everyone, I am going to go cold turkey tomorrow.  This is not my first rodeo, I am very afraid, but know that i want my life back from these pills. I am at about 250mg of oxycodone a day. I have been reading some of your posts and decided
I want what you all are working towards. Freedom from pills. wish me luck I am going to need it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
I'm on day two, so I know how you feel.  Once you get through day one you will feel so much better mentally.  Unfortunately, you won't feel better physically, but it doesn't last, unlike the pain of continuing the pills.  This is my second time, and I'm back at the sneezing, sniffing, totally aching legs and sleepless bit, and I could totally kick myself for relapsing.  I thought I'd be able to handle it as I wasn't addicted any more, but it only took a short time to get me back to addicted, exactly the same, if not more, and hell.  So it is so worth doing, you will feel better, and good luck.  Keep me updated and I will you.J x

On Nov 6th I took off my last Fentanyl patch at 100mcg/72 hours........I had a low dose script of Clonadine to take, but it was still teh hardest thing I have ever done.  I have learned that opiates suck the life out of me slowly and pave the way for me to return to active addiction.  I am sleepless still.  So, I chose to join this community to help others on their journey.  I have a sponser, a home NA Group and a home AA Group, my sponser is taking me through the AA Big book like the first hundred members did it. I have been in and out of AA and NA since I hit my first drug treatment at the age of 14.  That is 20 years that I have never done the work like I am doing it now.  I have 20 days clean and sober.  I have hope today.  I will send prayers out to you are not alone.  Many others have been exactly where you are and are living happy healthy lives.  I believe in you and you can do this.

Congratulations on keeping up the fight, most of the stories I have read are from people who made several attempts to recover before they were successful, so one of the most important things is to not give up.  Of course you know it will be rough sledding for a few days, the physical WDs are the ultimate test to whether a person really wants to get clean and then the mental WDS come along and give you another test, but both parts can be overcome with hard work.  I wish you the best with your recovery.

Hiya Bird,

I wish you luck and my prayers are with you.  In that it not's your first time, you know what you're in for which is huge.  It's not mine either.  The last time was 41 days ago when I stopped Sub.

Think hot baths, advil, vitamins, try to eat, and DISTRACT yourself rather than focusing on your issues.  Read, watch a movie, play video games, talk to afriend or family, whatever.

Everyone on this board is here for you myself included.

Best,

WM
