Michele, I am coming off a three month bender of 4 30mg oxy ER's and ten, ten mg. Oxy ir's. daily. I have no legitimate pain issues, just a garden variety oxy junkie. I read some posts about lyrics helping wd's. I had a script for 60 75mg lyrics. I read people taking huge doses to combat WD. I just wasn't quite comfy with taking that much. I started with 150 mg. and it took the edge off in day one. Day two I took 200 mg in the morning and 200mg at night. The WD symptoms were still there, but I wasn't in full blown, jiggy leg WD hell. Day three 250mg. in morning and 250mg at night. Again, it did not take away the WD symotoms, but it did take the nasty edge off. Day four I'm feeling better and took 150mg this morning. Still have a little WD cough/sneeze and the runs but I feel good enough to re enter society!! Along with the lytica, I took .5 of klonopin same time I took lyrica and a hit of sticky green at night. I was able to get 3-5 hours of sleep each night which I thought was great compared to previous wd. During WD Ialso chugged water, made myself get up and do something productive, did push ups and jumping jacks, ate oranges as my main diet. This is just my experience. I assume that lyrics in high doses would quiet the symptoms more than the dose I took. But it made me kind of drunk feeling but still having some WD symptoms. I'm guessing high doses just kind of make you "blotto" and I didn't want that. I guess I wanted to feel some of the misery. I wish you the best. Going to a na meeting this morning. Time to fess up and get that 24 hour chip one more time. I hope its the last one because being high just isn't fun anymore. I just take the pills to stave off WD. Insanity!!

We all will be ok as are all in this (life) together. We just need to plan ahead. This holds true weather planning for a vaction or planning to detox. The slower the taper the better is what i have read.

Thank you so much for your encouragement. after going to the ER & getting a pill that was supposed to stop the withdrawl symptoms &didn't I took your advice & called my doc. I got my script a day early. I'm scared to go to my next appt. That she will fire me as a patient. I have chronic neck pain & very painful IBS. I went to the GI doc today & asked him to write my pain doc a note so she'll realize I am trying to get better, get rid of some of the pain but I can't & the GI docs (this is the 4th one I've gone to) can't help me. No cure for IBS. He agreed to do that. He was kind & understanding. I wasn't going to go but glad that I did. I need my pain doc to know my pain is real & she's the only one who can help me. I'm sure I'll get a drug test this appt. which is fine. I'm clean. I was only 2` days short. I hope she understands & isn't too mad at me!!!! I'm ashamed.
Thanks again!!! I wouldn't have called & gotten script early if it wasn't for your encouragement!!!!
I wish you all the best!!! Thanks again for your help!!!

yes, lyrica helps the WD symptoms, but you know, do you intend to quit? Is this the way you want to live the rest of your life?
Jump off now my friend, and endure this pain and get clean, it only gets worse.
48 days for me here and I am loving life. The narcotics only keep you in more pain, there are so many better ways to handle pain. PM me and I will tell you.

hugs,
Lily

lyrica is an anticonvulsive. It works by decreasing the number of nerve signels sent out caused by damaged nerves. its for people with fibromialgia

about Lyrica no but ill check. Your doctor is there to help you. she took an oath to help all humanity. But you must tell her you have a game plan. I was in the same as you 3 weeks ago was taking 8 norcos a day up from 2/1/2 in a 4 year period. I kept seeing my doctor every 3 months in the begining (i have a back problem) but when i was dianosed with cancer 2 years ago i did not care and starting taking more feeling sorry for myself. Since them my cancer is ok but my pill taking not. I saw my doctor early last month as run out early. I said doc i will honestly try to cut down but need your help. I told him i would taper to 3 per day. I take 1/2 of a norco every 4 hours and is really working. not much W/D an can see down 2 one or 2 pills in the near future. If your doctor sees you have a plan she will help you but you must make some effort. Your taking very strong meds so im not sure what she will recommend but you need her help.

You have got to be completely honest with your doctor. You say you screwed up and took to many so probably your doctor wont see you till the schedule? I have done this before also and my doctor would not see me early. Do you have enough meds to get you through till then? Can you taper what you have left till this friday. It sounds like the type of meds your taking you might have to go to the emergency room. But please tell you doctor all about you and not hold anything back. Tell him your weakness and strength and your plan. Youll be ok if you take action now.

Sounds like a very large dose.  I used to do the same thing to myself.  Taking all my scripts too early and then running a week or so short.  I was in acute withdrawl several times a month.  I finally got to a point where I was doing things I shouldnt have to get more.  You need to ask yourself if you have a problem with the pain killers.  Opiate  addiction is a very serious medical condition.  It is Progressive and always fatal if not treated.  The only thing I can think of to help your pain and withdrawl is more pain medicine.  Talk to your doctor.  Either your pain is under treated or you are showing addictive behaviors.  Either way you need to be treated.  Try hot long soaking baths and long walks.  Sleep will be your biggest problem.  Good Luck to you.

The Lyrica may help with some pain but not the withdrawls.  Sounds like you are detoxing on your own.  Can you tell me a little about your situation?  How much were you on daily.  Are you stopping cold turkey or tapering? There are options to help the withdrawl symptoms.
