explain the difference between suboxone therapy and methadone maintenance.

I know people who have been on subs for 4+ Yrs.  Methadone does ger u a little higher.  But as with the suboxone its just a substitute for stronger opi's.  Addiction to pk's (pain killers) is an agonizing hell.  No matter what.  I wish I hae never heard of them.  On Suboxone for 11 months.  Have tried to taper off several times. WD's are less painfull, compared to when I 1st detoxed off Liquid morphine, & fentanyl.  But I still can't manage to make it past day 5, without taking another sub.  Goodluck to all.

Suboxone is a long term or short term med to help with opiate w/d or can be used for pain managment even though it says not to.  Methadone has little to no euphoric effect as with suboxone and after taking it for so long you feel no high what so ever if you felt high initially.  Methadone is a full agonist Sub is a partial agonist

suboxone is for people on a very short term basis to get through W/Ds from opiate addiction....

Methadone is for people looking for a substitute drug to get high on........
