opiods and depression

i was watching an interesting tv program on alchol binge drinking how it leads to panic attacks, depression all that so i figured whats the difference if opiods are CNS depressents too couldnt that be a cause to panic attacks and depression ? I think the majority of my dep comes from methadone itself i noticed since i have gone back up im not excately bursting with energy, but yet lower doses i feel my dep is better but my anxiety is up cant win i guess lol..wonder if there's any fact to opiods causing moods?

I'm not sure about any facts to opiods causing moods and depression but i sure went through a spell of moods and depression when i first came off my doc (H). I didn't know what to do with myself, it was horrible. Been off (H) now for over a year and feel so much better, however i personally think H caused these spells. I to also wonder about facts on this subject! Take care

Just a thought but in my case I think I drank and did pills because I was somewhat depressed and the pills and booze helped make me "happy". So when I stopped the same problem was there and I have panic attacks and tend to get depressed.

I look at things like I'm back to square one and have to find something else to help me deal with my state of mind. The old way didn't work.

I think tha'ts true we just mask it with things. Help us cope but it must have an effect on us too

bubba, dope or opiates can cause anxiety and depresion in some cases. Methadone for sure. I had panic attacks on high dose methadone and was depressed because it's depressing. I can tell you for sure that higher dose methadone made me have terrible panic and nightmares.
