overdose

One of my best friends just overdosed on oc and darvocet.  She is in the hospital in a coma and she has no brain activity in the top half of her brain.  My question is at this stage could she pull out of her coma and live a functional life or will she remain in a vegitative state. please help she is my best friend.

She could pull out. But, if she does she probably wont be the same. My friend did same thing, and after coming to she went right back to drinking and drugs. For 10 years she abused them after the coma, ahe also seemed dull in the brain, and slurred her speech.

She died in Jan, 3 weeks after I went cold turkey. It was rough going to a funeral while detoxing, but it really drove home the need to get off of the pills.
