oxycontin withdrawl help

by lounge99, Jan 23, 2008 04:49AM
does anyone know if its ok to take suboxone to withdraw from oxys.   I have been snorting oxys on and off for 10-12 months now and I've wasted away every last dollar I have.  I was taking suboxone for about a week and only 2mgs a day was making me feel normal well with a  lil aches and pains here and there.  Then for 4 days I relapsed and did about 4 80mg oxys in 4 days.  I'm on my 2 day of not using oxys and the craving arent incredibly terrible and neither are the withdrawls.  I'm wondering since I'm taking the suboxone which I only have about 6mgs left of,  if I take that for the next 2 days will I be done with oxy withdrawls.  Or am i just prolonging the inevitable?  Does suboxone have withdrawls too and if so how bad will those be and what steps should i take to prepare myself?  could someone please respond to this asap I'm sick of feeling alone in my addiction and i would love the correct imput from others who are dealing with the same problems.  I 25 and just moved back in with my parents but I still haven't been able to tell them anything about my problems.  I wanted this terrible rollercoaster ride to end so I can get back to living the amazing life I once had.  this was posted 4:46 AM Jan. 23 2008 yeah i cant sleep for the life of me but mostly because I cant put my mind to rest until i can kick the physical addiction.  Mentally I'm a very strong person but I honestly havent had the time to just stop my life to a week and do nothing.  should i tell my dad or should i try it on my own first someone please help thanks for your time!!!!!

You are a drug addict first and foremost. Don't jeapordize your well being by replacing an addiction forming drug (oxy's) with an even stronger one (methadone) as suggested above. I vote you tell your partents. You need their support right now. Just be honest with them. You don't have enough Sub to taper down with so you will start WDing soon. Is there a Sub doctor in your area you can get into? They can get you going on some legal Sub and help you taper down to nothing with very little physical discomfort. If you can't go that route then you will be going CT.  You can do it.
Post again so we know how you are doing. There are lots of things you can do do help with the WD's. You aren't alone in this. We are here for you. You have taken the first and hardest step towards getting your life back: you've admitted there is a problem!!  Hang in there.
Stay strong,
Greatgreebo
