oxycontin withdrawl side effects

How bad did I screw up?
4th night off oxy, thought I had a glimmer of sanity prior to bed after taking a newly prescribed 0.1 mg of clonidine
Had to take a 10 mg percoset(In my near insanity mode thought they were different than oxy and took a shot it might work) after trying to sleep for about 4 hours.Kept having to jump up out of bed and walk around tried everything. Longt hot shower, benadryl,an extra zanex, cammomile tea, an extra trazadone and
it seemed to even get worse.Could not even sit long enough to watch tv.

When you quit adding all the "extra's" into the mix you may feel better.

Hey- Do NOT take "a lot" of clonidine. It will bottom out your b/p!  Right now,you really shouldn't be taking all those meds. It sends mixed messages to your brain and you'll feel worse. I gave you some very good advice on your other post.
Good luck!

You know about the hot bath. Try a good Potassium supplement. Try eating bananas and try Quinine Water. They all help. Also, if you have ace bandages, wrap them around the calves of your legs and use moist heat pad under them, if available. If you have a chair that you can lay back in instead of the bed, try that. Often the rls begins when we lay down and our bodies begin to relax.

Keep posting and if you have any questions, as them right here. There is always someone around to help.

Hi & Welcome,

Listen, you have two posts on the same page, within hours or each other. It can get confusing trying to help you so let's stay right here. Clonidine is a powerful drug and should be taken under a doctor's orders. Gabapentin could carry problem of it's own. It also should be taken under a doctor's care. NO ONE in this community should be giving out that type of information---how much to take, etc. It is dangerous and a violation of our guidelines. Please be very careful with regards to the information you are receiving.

All of the medication you ARE taking right now, combined...could cause the rls in itself. You may need to just buckle down here for a few days and get though this.

  Thanks for your reply.
To answer your question I was taking 60 mg of oxy 2x a day for about 2 months.I always take the zanex and trazadone at bed time,as I have trouble falling asleep on a regular basis.I have been able to somewhat negotiate the mental confusion, crying spells,
depression etcThe reason I got off the oxy and lyrica was because they were not helping with the chronic back pain and i was nodding off all the time.Talk about doing a 180 turn aroundin less than 4 days! The rls syndrome has to go and I do not want to take any more opiates.Something other than 3 weeks of torture must be able to help?

Congratulations on wanting to get clean.  How long were you on the oxy and how much?
Taking other opiates (percocet) is not the answer if you really want to get clean.  Be carefull of the extras ( zanex,  trazadone) as they are not the answer to your problems. If you truly want together off of opiates you must stop the extras and start getting by on the minimums.  Sobriety is about not taking vs. Taking something else. This is a battle you can win if you take the correct actions. Get in NA and stop the insanity. Best of luck on your recovery. guv
