pain killers

I have hydrocephalus which was treated via third ventrolosocopy <sp?>and although it appears to be working, I am still having issues with headaches that persist and frequently interupt my sleeping I cannot lie flat as it feel like I am drowning so i lie at about a 30 degree angle elevation for my head but I find that my sleep quality isn't sufficent enough to make me able bodied in terms of being "compas mentis"  enough to be able to do basic things like shopping and thing like without being absolutely exhusted. Is there any pain relief that I won't get addicted to that can help ?

Almost anything can and has been addictive to someone. What were your options? Maybe we can give some "better than" suggestions..
