Hello,

I agree with dellta. Talk to your OB about it, and they can help you taper. I had perc habit when I got pregnant, wasnt prescribed them or anything, just started taking them 'for fun'. I was taking 30mg a day all at once to get that euphoric feeling. I tried to just quit when I found out I was pregnant, but was too weak, physically and mentall to do it. I spent way too much time telling myself that I would quit eventually. I did go down in milligrams and would take anywhere between 5-25mg a day, but I eventually had to just quit when I got down to 10-15mg a day. Quitting cold turkey is never a good idea when you're pregnant. I am 29 weeks now and clean, but I still worry about the way I did it. I think because the amount I was taking was so low I will be ok. I only had very mild withdrawals for the first night..But I've been stupid and didnt ever say anything to my dr because Im ashamed, embarrassed and scared of how she'll react. I also assumed I'd just quit on my own. Just make sure your OB knows you're taking those. A lot of women stay on pain meds throughout their pregnancy, and usually have help with tapering in the last month or so. good luck to you!

hi first let me say if you dont stop now you will be on your way to a very bad habbit you say you are taking about 48mg or so a day of oxycodone you are not that far yet so it would be very wise for you to go to 20mg for a couple of days then dwn to 10mg for couple days then down to 5mg then go to .5mg or just stop you can do all tis with in a 8 day period you could be free and clean of opiets. Because if you dont stop it will get worse for you and possibly your baby. because it is more harmfull and dangerous to your baby for you to go threw w/d wile pregnant, Blood presure, stress, you name it. So just wean down and stop befor you get to deep into the addiction and befor its to late for you to stop for the saftey of your baby.. I promise you this there will come a day when you have no pills you cant get any. and you will be hating it more than you know you dont want to go threw w/d with a new born or just go threw the w/d period trust me i know first hand. As well all you have to do is read threw the forum and witness the saddnes and pain of w/d Please dont get like me stop a.s.a.p. Best of luck to you
