percocets before c section and breastfeeding

I have been prescribed percocets for sciatica since about month 6 of my pregnancy. Some days i don't need it at all some days i need the directed 1-2 every 4-6 hours. My doctor said to just not take them as often the week before my c section. the nurse midwife has expressed concerns that the baby could be born with withdrawal symptoms. My question is since i am breastfeeding and will be taking the meds for pain relief after the surgery anyways won't the baby still be getting the med through my breastmilk. My c section is a week from thursday and I have managed ok the last 2 days but finally had to take 2 about an hour ago b/c the pain is just unbearable i can't even walk to the bathroom without feeling it go down my leg. I know this last week will be teh toughest as far as pain is concerned b/c i'm at my largest (although i'v only gained 10 lbs). So do you think the baby will still get these "withdrawal" symptoms if i am breastfeeding anyways?

i would also be very concerned at the fact you have only gained 10 pounds i would definately take the advice of goingtomakeit or get ahold of your dr.s  i think alot of the problem now a days is one dr says to do this and the other says to do that a huge lack of communication the number one concern should be the health and safety of our children i know my son is 5 and when i was pregnant i had some complications and the last 2 months of my pregnancy i staed in pain and i stayed in bed and i had a 2 yr old running around the house my dr didn't even want me to take anything but a small dose of otc pain relief and it killed me but it was well worth it mind you my regular physician tried to prescribe me tylenol with codeine and i had called my obgyn up and my obgyn said not to take them.... so we need to tell our dr.s if we have more than one to communicate with each other.....good luck to you stay strong.........msinsane
