If its the anti-nausea med, it is safe to take. It helped me with my wds. It did not help me sleep but it helped me rest. Its also what they give preg women.

if what you're talking about is spelled phenergan, it is an anti-nausea medication. it does not have any opiates in it. it can make you sleepy so please becareful when taking it.

There was a phenergan cough syrup that contained codeine. It had something like the initials VC after the Phenergan.

Phenergan is not an opiate, however it is known as an opiate agonist meaning that it binds to an opioid pain receptor in the brain and causes an analgesic response....it makes opioids work stronger, therefore if you take a norco and phenergan it will have a stronger effect...its the same with tylenol, and that is why it is combined with meds like hydrocodone, and oxycodone....
Phenergan can make you very sleepy, and in some people (like myself) it can make you feel high, usually only when used IV though.  If your using it because you really are feeling nauseated, thats OK.  Sometimes docs prescribe it for the side effect of causeing sleepiness, but usually not.  If your useing it for other reasons you may have a problem....hope this was helpfull and not to big brainy of me.

Phenergan I believe is related to promethazine, which to the best of my understanding is prescribed for sea sickness, and or nausea.
