please help - how would i know if i had a hole?

... up my nose, i cant see one at all but what if it is further up? im going to look with t flashlight when i get home but im scared now as it is whistling and people say this is a sign, not loudly or any thing only if i listen, could this be something else?

Go to the Dr....and it would be better to quit snorting. The damage will only get worse.

It can always be something else....some worse...some not - - if you do have a hole in your septum its not a big thing...withdrawing the offending agent is the standard answer...so your already doing that - - Even if you are whistling, you are the one that notices it - not generally like a fire truck or anything. Use a saline nose rinse (walgreens has a good one) and keep an extra sharp eye for infections...sensitive nose, redness, elevated temp....you know the drill. See a Doc for peace of mind if it gets worse or hangs on for a long time....and definitely if you notice a sign of infection...good luck - it could be worse........some people hit respiratory arrest before they wake up..............

thank you i dont think i have an infection and gizzy on here said that by the sounds of my nose it will heal, it only started whistling slightly yesterday and i havnt touched anything since saturday and that was only one line so i dont think it is a hole but i want peace of mind, i cant see anything immediate up there and havnt had nosebleeds at all, i have a saline spray but trying not too use to often as i dont want it too hurt it in any way as some people say that sprays are bad, this is not the case for saline sprays though is it?

Like theeagle said, even if you do have a hole, it's not life threatening.  but, can lead to sinus infections and that, if left untreated, can be life threatening.  First, gotta give your nose a rest.  If you're snorting, you gotta stop, otherwise you'll continue the damage.  Eventually it will start affecting your sinuses and you don't want that to happen.  the saline rinse will help clean and heal the inside of your nose.  Watch the color (and smell) of your nasal drainage (snot).  A green or yellow color is sign of infection and requires antibiotics.  Otherwise, clean it out several times a day, use a humidifier, and stop snorting.

your not going to be able to see it even with a flashlight. it is deeper up. the septum is what seperates the 2 nasal passages and when ya sniff enough coke it will eat away at it until it breaks through. im getting shivers, ugggg. anyway, not only does cocaine eat away at the septum, it also eats away at the bone in your nose, thus causing the hole. your best way to tell, is stick your pinky finger up your worst nostril, make sure you finger is moist and if you have bad damage you will feel that hole, trust me. some can put their finger all the way through to the other side, yuck. i know this sounds gross, but the most simple way to tell. im no doctor, but im guessing cause you have not had nose bleeds or bad scabs the damage is not bad yet, but  it won't take long before it does get bad. if you need support to stay clean (which you do) stick around here, the mental addiction of coke is very difficult. good luck

thankyou i cant feel  anything up there my pinky wont even go that far up tbh but i cant feel anything maybe i have been lucky. i am never touching it again i swear and i will stick around here for support, the whistling must be something else then,

also another quick question maybe i am just being paranoid as no one else has mentioned it but when i look at the outside of my nose my nose looks slightly bent in on the bad side would this be a deviated septum or just where the tissue has eroded and if it is just the tissue when it regenerates will my nose look normal to me again, sorry for all the questions i just need to know.... if you know what  imean :(

haha the whistiling isnt even that bad i swear im being paranoid and when i just blue my nose and put saline spray it stopped i really have to hold one side of my nose and breath hard and listen closely to hear it whistle... am i being paranoid? i think the paranoia is getting me lol

no sinus troubles at all and i guess it has always been slightly bent i just took a look at my passport pic but not as much as i hink it is now, maybe im just being silly.... god i hate cocaine with a passion

the whistling is usually the flesh sometimes. mine did that, but rarely. as far as being bent, i don't know, mine is still the shame shape, but i can feel that hole. i don't think you have a deviated septum yet, you would bleed, you would get big scabs for awhile and when mine happened it was messy. i have to admit, my nose has improved so much, but that hole is still there, not a huge problem, i stopped in time i guess.

listen i just read you haven't touched it since saturday, im guessing you know what a monster craving feels like, how are you gonna fight that? i want you to kick this, but it's easier said than done. the relapse rate for cocaine is disgusting and dosen't go away after a month. im only asking cause i want to see you stay clean, hope this scared you enough to stay that way. im around if ya have any questions ok.

it has scared me enough im a good looking lady if i do say so myself lol and dont want to ruin that let alone my health, ive been feeling down and distracted over it too and being rowing with my bf alot and i know its my fault as a i switch for no apparent reason, i feel stressed and tired all the time, mainly because i have a busy job (graphic designer) and have just moved out of home but this just adds to the situation.

i will fight the cravings by talking on here and reminding myself of how i have been feeling, i have to beat it this time and i will.

i know about the relapse the longest i have managed to stay away is 7 weeks so i know i can get too that stage i need to beat that stage and quit forever.
