please help me with some advice of tapering off of 5omgs of methadone

i have already written my usage below somewhere ,basically a single father on and off methadone for 20 yrs but been steadily on for at least 10 now am on 50 but just tapered down to 40 in last 2 days pls help also on 50mgs of valium and 1  20mg tamazepan??help help pls advice?dom

welcome to the forum, and glad you found us here. there are a lot of members on here that are very experienced in the tapering field of getting off the pills. but unfortunately, we're not allowed to give out specific tapering methods or schedules since none of us are doctors. hopefully, members with experience with this will be along shortly to help you. i just wanted to go ahead and welcome you here and to let you know someone saw your post.

Hi Dom-  It sounds like you're dropping too fast. The secret to a successful taper is dropping small amounts over a long period of time...

Also, plenty of fluids, good food, and exercise.

It's great that you want to get away from Methadone. You'll feel so much better!

Hi dom....I agree with vikki...you may be dropping to fast....athough I have no experience with methadone I am tapering off of hydro....and slowly....
