posts removed??

I have a question about posts being removed from this board.I see and participate in posts in which people are in danger of relapse and asking for help.I go back to check and the post is removed. Why is this? Do you have to be using ,tapering,or posting clean time in order to have a post stay where it is on this forum?  What if someone relapses because their cry for help gets removed??  Is there something I am missing about these posts? THis has been bothering me for some time but I feel it very necessary to ask this question today.

I too agree. I can see certain posts being moved to the social side if someone is just "shooting the breeze" but when someone comes on here and is obviously crying out for help and it gets moved. Sure, some people come on here and vent about personal issues going on in there life but that is their cry for help. It's not just a social conversation.

I think what happens is that they skim over posts and then decide. The thing is, missing one sentence could give them a totally different understanding of the post and realize that this person is begging for help and support.

I understand that it can a lot of work keeping forums organized but if there are any doubts I feel it should be left alone.

I know each forum has some community leaders. I think it would be a great idea to have a couple members who are in charge of what gets moved and what doesn't. In order to keep the peace, these members don't have to be identified. Members here spend a lot of time reading these posts and getting to know one another. That being said, they would have a better understanding on whether or not someone is crying out for help or just shooting the breeze.

How about it mods? It would take a load off of your plate.

Well I am just very worried about someone on here who this morning in their first post said they were planning on filling their script because of lots of bad stuff going on with them right now. There post was removed and they even made another post about that saying they were wanting help in regards to relapse.THeir second post was also removed. Now they are nowhere to be seen.I am worried that this was the last straw for them.I hope that more people than just me realize that relapse usually results in continued use and in some cases even death because they take their usual dose and thier body isn't used to it.

Hi, folks,

We're not able to discuss any members because we take your privacy very seriously, but please know that whether we move or remove a post, we touch base with the author to see if we can help them resolve the problem.  A great deal does go on behind the scenes, and we're sensitive to the different situations that everyone here experiences and make every effort to protect all of the participants here.

We can't continue this discussion in the forums here because it's off-topic in the Addictions forum, but if anyone has any questions about this or any moderation issues, please feel free to PM me or email us via the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page.
