I would be honest with your Dr. You need to tell them what you did. They can tell you what yhe dangers are. They can also do ultrasounds to check for problems. I hate to say this but that wasn't one of your smarter moves.

you have got to be kidding me?  I cannot imagine going from a cigarette now and then to 10 lines of coke in one night being 9 weeks pregnant..
I am beyond speechless, and will go give my kids a hug right now

Do not tell your doctor right away...if you really think you will not do this again, then you may be safe in telling him...but he could decide to test you for drugs and if it comes up positive then he has the obligation to report it to the proper authorities, which could put your family in jeopardy, they COULD take your children from you!...BUT, on the other hand, if your doing drugs while pregnant...you may have more of a problem than your willing to admit?  possible? you made a HUGE mistake...but if you think it was just a one time thing, move on, dont beat yourself up...but ask yourself and be honest with yourself about whether you have a problem or not, that is the key...we have ALL done things we shouldnt have done, pregnant or not, but of course its is worse when carrying a baby, you have to realize that. i guess where i would start would be to do some research on the internet about cocaine use and pregnancy and see what you can learn and go from there...i hope you have learned an important lesson here, i am not judging you, as i know myself, i am NO angel...good luck and let me know how you do!!

Again, thanks for ur response and good luck to you

I am going to post some info that I found, I am not one to be mean but WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? that baby inside you has no choice of what happens he or she depends on you to keep them healthy and safe till they come into the world. I would never ever do something that could hurt one of my children and surely to hell not while someone is inside me and depending on everything I do to keep them alive! Read this info maybe it will help

Is there any safe amount of cocaine I can use
during pregnancy?
No. Researchers have not determined just
how much cocaine it takes to cause birth defects
and other adverse outcomes for an exposed baby. It
is recommended that cocaine, in any amount or any
form, be avoided during pregnancy.

How long does cocaine stay in my body after use?
Cocaine by-products can be found for 30
hours in the urine of the pregnant woman, and for 2
to 4 days in the newborn after the drug is used.

When I use cocaine, does it get into my baby’s
body too?
Yes. Cocaine crosses the placenta and
enters the baby’s circulation. Cocaine can be found
in both the urine and the hair of an exposed
newborn. The elimination of cocaine is
considerably slower in the fetus and newborn than
in an adult. Therefore, the cocaine remains in the
baby’s body for a longer period of time.

I have heard that cocaine can cause a
miscarriage. Is this true?
Yes. During the early months of pregnancy,
cocaine exposure may increase the risk for
miscarriages. Later in pregnancy, cocaine use can
cause the placenta to separate from the wall of the
uterus before labor begins. This condition, called
placental abruption, can lead to extensive bleeding
and can be fatal for both the mother and baby.

Cocaine may also increase the risk for
premature delivery.
What if my baby is born too early or too small?
What will this mean?
Premature infants often have low birth
weight. Low birth weight babies are more likely to
die in their first month than normal weight babies
are. They are also more likely to have life-long
disabilities, including learning, visual, and hearing
problems. Since cocaine can reduce the supply of
nutrients and oxygen to the baby, even full-term
newborns may have intrauterine growth retardation

Can cocaine cause other problems besides
miscarriage and birth defects?
Yes. Not all damage is structural (birth
defects that can be seen). Cocaine-exposed infants,
especially those exposed near birth, have been
found to be more irritable, jittery, and have
interrupted sleep patterns, visual disturbances, and
an inability to deal appropriately with sensory
stimulation. Some of these complications may last 8
to 10 weeks after birth or even longer.
Cocaine can cause significant central
nervous system problems that may not be observed
until the child is older. These effects may include
delays in cognitive development or learning ability,
and behavioral changes. Additional studies are
needed to determine long-term neurobehavioral
effects.

yes you were being helpful, after you made her feel like **** for a mistake she is totally aware of, she posted for support and information, if you really want to help, then you maybe should have skipped the first paragraph...? making her feel like **** does not change the fact that a mistake was made, so what was the purpose?
and i REFUSE to get into another useless argument over this, END IT!  your first paragraph was un-neccessary and judgmental.

I think everyone has the right to post whatever response they want, and yes it may offend others.  To be honest, yours is the post that offended me but that's just part of life.  I think by saying "but he could decide to test you for drugs and if it comes up positive then he has the obligation to report it to the proper authorities, which could put your family in jeopardy, they COULD take your children from you!..." was bad advice.  I think being tested for drugs would be the BEST thing the doctor could do.  And if it kept coming up positive then something SHOULD be done.  Not telling just to avoid what SHOULD happen isn't thinking about what is best for the baby.

That was not advice...that is reality...that IS what happens if your doctor suspects your an addict and your pregnant, he has the OBLIGATION to report it to DCYF, it happens quite often, i have seen it. why should she suffer that if she used illicit drugs once during her pregnancy..thats too bad reality offends you.
and i am sure that being an addict, you would have been honest with YOUR situation??  addicts have a great track record for being honest and forth coming...right?
