pregnant and need to wean fro legit oxy script

been on oxy 40mg3xday&20mgs4xday-sclerodermadx(severe full body raynauds,trigem neuralgia,,,,) been on med for pain after 2 years of alternative meds,effexor neurontin,elavil for neurogenic pain(these 2 meds helped w neuro pain-not at all did they subside awful h/a attacks of electric cont pain -not any but oxy helped vseverederterity malfunction 2dary2bone pain,went thru biofeedback, patches, vics,percs,ect ect ect+ pain clinic monitoringin first 2 years then md fam doc took over care regime,and still see neurologist,rheumatologist but all meds go thru one md.had to increaseoxy dose from 20bid to qid and increase 40mg from bid to tid-with this said-got questioned on script at pharm y-day and detective happened 2b there on diff case.my md wrote date a lil screwy and pharm q'd it when i was just fed up with connotations associated w med after  many years and yes, many,many alternatives explored-(not to mention fatal disease prognosis) i asked pharm guy to see it and when i did detective dude said stop right there-nonetheless-tried 2 interrogate me a a fellon,thenwalked me to car-where he called for bacj up-b/c pharmist said date on script looked altered-and since office was closed couldn't find out legitimacy till 2morrow am-nontheless-cops q'sd me, and asked 2see proof of prior scripts-so naturally i went 2 carand showed the my prev pharm pamphlets reflecting my past rx p/u's since oct-guess what no help-got worse-they began to scrutinize the amts perscribed and began calling me an addict, and saying"mam just admit you have a problem, what the ----!anyway after finally being releaesd under suspicion,went home realizing its now 1 week past period due (monthly cycle) and last months only spotting(me thinking it was due 2 stress-but after having children-i know the signs-i called my md 2 see 2morrow-now what? how do i wean what 2 do?

I too just found out that I am preg. This will be my 4th child and I was started on meds the day my last daughter was born, she is now 222 months. I had trouble in labor with the epidural and since then have been to pain drs and have started on vics then percs now oxycodone, dont know if its the same as oxycontin, but I dont think so. Anyways, I take it as prescribed, but my finace takes them too, so I run out of my script the first or second week, then we buy from everyone we know unitl the next month. Its a sad story, but now that I just found out about the preg, I have been tapering and so far so good, I have taken a half a pill less each dose these last 3 days and to tell you the truth, its not even that much of a difference. Next week I am going to again try to cut another half down.  I have not yet seen an ob dr. so I will talk to them about it and see what they suggest, but I want to try to get off of these darn pills by my second trimester! I have heard that if you are on a pretty low dose, the baby doesnt go through any w/d, so if I am not completely off, I will definitely try to get down to only 2-3 doses a day. Im scared of w/d and heard that if you quit c/t while you are preg, you may miscarry, so be VERY careful!! Definiitely talk to your ob as soon as you can. Do a search for suboxone. Many here say that it helped them immensely. Cuts out much of the w/d symptoms. Good Luck.

NO HE SAID YOU CAN GO COLD TURKEY, START THIS MED SUBOXAL? OR TAPER DOWN=MY MD IS VERY STMPATHETIC 2 MY CONDITION-(OFTEN TIMES MORE THAN I AM))HE SAID WE NEED TO GET UR DOSE DOWN BUT ALSO HAVE OME MEANS OF PAIN CNTRL TOO

Well if the Dr isn't an option is tapering down slowly one, or do I understand that your Rx has been cut off?

hate the connotations associated with oxycontin-hate that in that delivery room-those rn's and md's who will be judging me and speaking condesendingly -HATE how this med is always associated w/addiction-yes-it is-YES-it does work for pain when taken legititametly=b/c i have-but this med produces a craving for the next dose when it is due=ive cared for patients on it,  ive been on it and i see the routine time-clock that says pain pill is due,whens my pill due. i need my oxycontin-i just feel like there is something in it that makes a person get a need for it=i hate that it works for pain and in my case functionality

Please go to your baby Dr and discuss the best way to do this! Take care of that little one. The Dr needs to know everything. Let them decide what is best for you & the baby.
