I've Been on a methadone clinic for four years and have stayed clean now I'm pregnant I was just wondering about others who went through the same

Yes def tell ur Dr & discuss the best way to taper w/out effecting ur baby. Ur baby, once born will go threw methadone w/d if u stay on it..theres alot of info on methadone addicted newborns available on medical forums.do a google search.

Yes, ur baby will be born addicted to methadone if u stay on it. I suggest doing a slow taper depending on how far along ur pregnancy is.

Some here have. Supposedly methadone won't hurt the baby. But I don't know if the baby will have to withdraw once born. I don't know your dose but I would say wean slowly down to say 25 is if you can so it will be as good for baby as possible.

Someone on here said they used Neurontin to wean and get thru w/ds when pregnant and it was great for her and the baby too. No bad withdrawals for either.

So I know it is dangerous to go cold turkey. My advice talk to your Doctor or OB about this. Ask about neurontin maybe. What is best. And then they will make sure your baby is taken care of correctly when born. You will be ok. Good luck girl!!!
