red spots on tongue, burnt feeling, excessive partying....

by HollywoodWriter, Apr 08, 2009 08:37PM
This has happened to me before.  The first time it happened was after spring break where I did a lot of cocaine, drank a lot of alcohol, and barely ate anything.  I came back and a few days later I started getting these little red bumps on the tip of my tongue.  I went to the doctor and told him what had happened and he said that I needed to stop.  Well, this weekend, starting Thursday and running to Saturday night, I drank a whole lot and on Friday night snorted some Adderall (adderrall).  Saturday morning and all up through Sunday night, I couldn't eat anything.  Well Saturday I drank even more.  I **** for two days straight uncontrollably.  I've finally gotten my appetite back and my poop is solid again, but now my tongue feels like it has been burnt and the little red dots are back at the tip.  Does anyone know what causes this?  Should I go to the doctor again?

hi. if the previous doctor told you to cease the behavior, and you continued or returned to it, the outcome should be expected. the human body was not designed to withstand repetitive exposure to large amounts of booze, cocaine, adderall (adderrall), or any other mind/mood altering substance. this is largely why this forum is here---we overdid it until we got sick of the repercussions or are sick of them now and want to stop. if you continue to abuse chemicals, these are probably just the beginning of what lies ahead. but if you have had enough, there is a solution. take care, gm

I have them too. I don't drink, I do smoke. It got so bad at one point I looked up thrush.
That is a mouth fungas. I don't have that. I do know when I stress I think I rub the tip of my tongue along my bottom teeth. Also have really dry lips.

I have been rinsing my mouth with salt water 3 times a day.

Kinda of strange.

Hi.
I do percocet and get those bumps once in awhile too. I believe they are inflamed taste buds. I also have the weird habit I picked up last summer of constantly running my tongue along my teeth and gums on one side of my mouth so my mouth is always sore on one side. I feel like a crack head or something.
I believe they are really inflamed taste buds from the habit I mentioned.
You do WAY too much partying tho! I can't judge cuz I have too, but you really should taper that down some, you'll have alot more to worry about than bumps on your tongue, and it's not all too pretty.

Like what? I suffer from manic depression I'm pretty sure

Drugs will not help with manic depression is will make it worse or just plain cause it.  We have all partied but there comes a day when you have to stop or your body will stop it for you.

I took adderall (adderrall) last week while cramming for exams and drank slowly but steadily over the next few hours to keep the edge off.  I smoked more cigarettes than usual.

The next day my stomach was messed up; things not moving through properly.  I had to take some more adderrall that night though to keep motivated and finish studying.

These are small doses of xr - 10 - 15 mgs.  And altogether the equivalent of 3-4 beers tops over a few hours.

Since then I have not done any adderall (adderrall) but had a few drinks each night to relax since the exams are over.  I have noticed a gradually strengthening metallic taste in my mouth, and I just looked in the mirror to see tiny little red dots along the tip and sides of my tongue.  They look like they are just the taste buds, but they are really red and larger than usual.

I have googled everywhere, and this is the first page that reflects my symptoms and the likely cause.

I have been trying to catch up on sleep and get my stomach regular.  I will post here soon with an update.

Hollywood's behavior is more extreme than mine, but it is interesting that Adderrall and alcohol have played a role in producing similar symptoms.  I would like to know what's actually happening here physiologically to cause this.

Ya i think alcohol is the one messing with the tongue, cuz about a week ago i drank like 12 beers and smoked a couple of cigars and in the next 2 days i saw red spots all over my tongue and sides,I still have it and im kinda worried but i think it could also due to a cold.Cuz right now im feeling kinda sick coughing and having a sore throat. So if u guys found out what it was comment please.

Possibly a deficiency.  I can't remember what, but its the main one that alcohol depletes.....Yu might try to google something to that effect.........

Certainly time to think about losing the booze.....

luv,

Hi, I am from South Africa.  Glad I found this website.  I have similar symptoms, and definately think that the use of alcohol is the main cause.  I have really tried to isolate every thing I normally consume to see what agrivates it.  Stayed off coffee for a while, started to drink Green Tea, etc.  I have been having vit B injections now for 4 weeks, as I am also under a lot of stress in running two businesses. I think it definately affects my immune system.  Have also noticed that every time I drink an alcoholic beverage, the red spots are agrivated and I have a burning sensation in my mouth for a few days.  My comment to Hollywood, is to find healing and acceptance in who she or he is.  I found it in Jesus.  "I am accepted in the beloved".  We will never be able to keep the world happy, rather keep the One happy who gave His life for you and me.

Thank you for hearing me out.

Blessings, Tania
