restless legs

Hi I am sure you are tired of hearing this from me but I am getting worried. I am 23 days clean off Vics and AD and my legs are driving me nuts. My sleep is very interupted becasuse of it. I even have them during the day. I am taking lycrica which helps for a couple of hours but HOW LONG does this condition last, should I see a DR about it or am I trying to rush it?? Any body esle had this for so long.

Hi - Restless legs at night are absolutely horrible. I had them the very first night and felt like i was going to die (and was very tempted to take a half pill of vic in middle of night to sleep).

Now I do take Tegretol which is sometimes prescribed for rls (but didn't help me on first night)... but what I've noticed most is that bananas help a lot. I eat at least 3 per day (one right before bed) and take a a calcium pill too. I haven't had any rls since that first night. I am now on Day 7.

Good luck.

This can last for awhile and i know it is annoying.  Bananas help so munch away on them.  Just keep hanging in there......sara

I think it's normal - my RLS still comes back every once in a while and I've found eating a banana before bedtime helps this a lot.  Also, the hylands restful legs with quinine seems to help a lot of members here as well.  I'm sure it will get better with time.  :)

I was on norco and when I quit my rls was awful. It finally went away at about 3 weeks. But I noticed on days that I have a cup of coffee in the afternoon or a soda(sugar) desserts I will be a little restless at night. Watch what your eating and drinking for a few days. Lay off energy drinks and Gatorade or anything with too much sugar or caffiene. Who knows it's just a suggestion. My body just seems sensitive to what I'm putting in it since I've quit the meds(40 days today)..good luck with it, I know how it feels. I wouldn't wish it on my enemy if ya know what I mean.
