Thanks for sharing your story. You are among the lucky ones, sleeping like that.
I have read so many posts on here that match my story to a T.
It was like I was reading about me.
so I know you have heard it before
but here goes.
to make a long story as short as possible.
got hooked on loritabs because of injury to legs and back,
run the gambit like most of you...
got up to 10 to 15 loritab 10/500 a day
sometimes more,or what ever pain med I could get my hands on.
same old story for a few years
run out of them early detox
get them next month run out early detox....ect
I must have went through detox 30 or 40 times
got to be no big deal to tell you the truth...
about 6 months ago I got "smart" and made myself stick to the prescribed dose
I came to the realization with my doctors help that I am one of those people that cannot function normally on a daily basis
without them because of the pain...
I use a cane and a brace as well
with out a doubt If it were not for the meds i would be on disability
tried to go without them many times against doctors orders , but after a week or so
could not walk anymore.......ankle swells like a tree trunk
all huntched over because of the back...
well many of you know what i am talking about.
I am very impressed with all of you
and your willingness to help out your fellow man (or woman).
I find it very interesting how a community such as this
of people like us (addicts) seems to have more compassion and humanity
then people general ....just think what the world would be like
if every one would show the same compassion and humanity
towards there fellow man (or woman).
If I could be of any help to any one of you
it would be an honor
I do have a few things that I found helped me to detox
I found that bananas help...with the cravings and to put potassium back in your system.
lots of water
and the clonidine (sp) does help alot
but my system seems to be different then many of you
when i was going through detox i would sleep and sleep and sleep
and that helped.
so now i take my meds the way I am suppose to..
and not to get high.
and will have to for the rest of my days
according to my doctor.
sorry for the long post
god bless all of you
inawe
God bless you in this season. I think many have 'lurked' before jumping. :)
Is your story something you want to share?
i am a lurker....i have been here for over a yr and don't post often , unless it is someone i know about and have talked to personally, but unfortunately most of them have since moved on for various reasond....manonfire, ladysundown, hubychoo, fladdict(still here), and so many others....oh and mangee....but alot of ppl do just lurk and read and not post. i feel as though sometimes i know you all personally, bc of all the stories i read. so, that said, yes, there are probably alot of ppl who read but not post...............thank you all...cindy
Why don't you join us.

I am sure many many people lurk as i have done for months
and you all have helped me more then i can express in words
as for fighting.....well it is not realistic to believe
every one gets along all the time
thats just part of life...
think about how much money you all have saved people like me on
professional detox....wow....thats all i can say ...wow
keep on keepin on
Wow... That was really nice! It makes me wonder how many people actually just read this forum and never participate. I bet it's huge! :) That's why we shouldn't fight..... :)
that was very sweet for you to say :)
