I have heard of people switching from Methadone to Suboxone.  It really needs to be done under a doctors care. I think you have to be below 30 mg and stop taking the Methadone for almost 5 days.  I was prescribed Seroquel while on Suboxone. All of these drugs are super strong, so please do this under a doctors care.

I agree with the above posters and would like to add Seroquel and Alcohol are a very bad combination.. not only does it affect coordination but your thinking memory and everything else.. Really a bad bad combo.. It sounds like the Seroquel is prescribed the booze isn't.. I hope you give up the Alcohol as it will throw a Monkey wrench in everything you try.. Be kind to yourself.. lesa

I switched from 30mgs of methadone over to 8mgs of suboxone, after tapering my methadone dose down from 120mgs to the 30mgs required before switching. Different doctors have different time periods they make patients wait before taking suboxone. My doc had me wait atleast 48hrs, so I waited about 50hrs before my first dose, but there are many other doctors that require 3-5days off methadone before their first dose. You basicly are supposed to be in full blown w/d before your first dose, just follow your doctors instructions on how long they want you to wait and you should do fine. Come back and let us know how things, do as much research about suboxone as you can to help you come up with the best plan of attack. Best of luck to you, take care.
