seroquel xr

by Lucybug, Nov 05, 2009 12:12AM
This is my first time to this site, but I was wondering, my dr is putting me on suboxone this Friday, he couldn't do it last visit because I had methadone in my system and I've heard how it would put you into immediate withdrawals after taking it so, my dr prescribed me a few meds to get me by until Friday when he can give me the script for suboxone, in the mean time the Seroquel XR 150 mg was helping me very well to sleep, but now it's like I'm not even taking it at all, can anyone explain to me why it worked the first 5 days then stopped working?

XR means extended release//unlike a regular dose seraquil which would kick in/make u sleep and be gone the next day..perhaps ur dr was also trying to help anxiety during the day as well as help u sleep...talk to him about the sleep issue as he can change things for u as needed..communication with ur DR is a great idea right now...this may not apply to u but anyone with a tolerence to benzos will have a fast tolerence to sleep meds

what was ur dose of methadone?  how long have u been narcotic free...just askin?   how do u feel?  I just always get a bit nervous when someone stops one narcotic to go on another....I am sure ur dr knows his stuff tho and u were probably at a large dose of methadone that may warrant sub to be drug free....just always think people should investigate/educate when it comes to switching narcotics in an effort to be clean

b safe and keep posting
