seroquel

well after feeling terrible for months after getting clean i tired a couple anti depressants (cymbalta and efferor xr) both made me feel sick.

so im trying seroquel now, day 2 and im calm for the first time in months.

im also going to try prozac with the seroquel.

hoepfuly a couple months of this combo will settle my unsettled brain and i can quit them both?

anyone had any experience with seroquel?

pshyc doc said it might have some weird side effects

I took it once for sleep. It made me quite nutty..even at a 25mg dose.

they RX'd it for me for sleep too, didn't do the job so I've moved on to other RX's but do remember the doc saying it had some funky side effects and to be very careful not to taper to quickly -- take care.

Yeah, as i stated a few times...........I took seroquel and had some very interesting dreams.....I kind of enjoyed it, except when I kept having wild sex dreams with that Mind Freak guy.......Chris Angel.  The dreams wouldn't stop, so I stopped taking it.  that guy creeps me out........I would have rather had sex dreams with Flav-A-Flav.......lol.  Everyone is different.......give it a try for a while if it's making you feel better.  Good luck.

I dont want to the negative one here, but I had awful side effects...atleast in my opinion. I really hate feeling dissociated, like the feeling you get from benzos. That is what Seroquel did to me. It made me way to sleepy, gain weight, and dissociative. Only made it for about 3-4 days before I flushed them all.

I have had anxiety and depression my whole life. It is why I started taking opiates. Since I have quit opiates I have been taking Lexapro and am loving it. I mean, you name it, I have taken it, and this is the first anti-depressant/anti-anxiety med that hasn't made me feel that zombie feeling. I also have Klonopin to take as needed, but I usually never do. I have had the same months supply for about 4 months now. I just use it for sleep once in a while if I am too hyped up from the Adderall (adderrall). Oh yeah, I am on that as needed for concentration, etc.

So yeah, if you aren't digging Seroquel, give Lexapro a shot. You are aware that Seroquel is typically used to treat bi-polar disorder, correct? Cymbalta and Effexor are both for depression and anxiety, but I have heard of people getting sick. I got sick from Effexor, but have never tried Cymbalta. Lexapro has never made me sick, it ust magically helps...and luckly I didnt get any of the rare sexual side effects. YAHOO!

ive been on seroqeul for a year and a half. doc perscribed it to sleep never had any problems and still take it. everybody  is different with different side affects. i now take 100 to 125 mills to sleep. just make sure what ever the reason he gave it to you that you give it time to take affect. and remember psych meds take 2 to 3 weeks to really get into your system to work. ive been on enough antideppresents over the years to know that much. but like uphill7584 said not all meds agree with us you are the only one who knows if u feel ok on it.really dont know your situation but alot of addicts getting clean are usually put on meds for bi-polar and deppression. atleast all the rehabs ive been to alot were, and when and if your ready you can taper off the meds to see if you really need them anymore and if so thats ok. wish you well

thanks all, im on day 3 with seroquel and feel quite good. anxiety is almost completely gone, and i dont feel disassociated or weird. just kinda normal and relaxed? 50 mg in the day and 100 at night. i was feeling a long way off base (suicidal thoughts etc) so its nice to be feeling ok agin.

wow!  thats a pretty high dose for the day .........I'm glad it's working for you.  Looks like I might be needing an anti-depressant soon, but I am going to hold off as long as I can, because I hear they can be addicting too.......i just want to be pill free if possible.  Good luck.....
