shooting

I have a friend who has had many difficulties with drugs and in turn has had medical difficulties as well. His veins are very hard to see on his arms so sometimes he will go to his legs. He keeps lying to me about it all and I am terrified for him. I have put him in rehab before but it didnt do any good because HE DIDNT WANT IT. I think he may be ready but I am not sure. Regardless I keep telling him  to stop shooting in his legs. I have heard that it is much worse risk in the leg. Is this true and if so what is the difference and what are the added risks?

Thank you.

i dont think shooting in his legs carries ne more risks than shooting newhere else.I will say that if the veins in his arms have collapsed its probably due to poor technique or shoddy dope.Eventually his leg veins will give too.If he insists on shooting, encourage him to change sites regularly.Often street dope has many harmful adulturants.Wheel filters, clean works and sterile practices are a must.

you know what my drug addiction counselor told me last week which i found odd, something about heroin having no real bad affects on the body (liver etc) like alcohol, meth, cigs, and then he told me when i said why is pot even illegal? not that I smoke it or was ever a huge fan but was curious since cigs and alcohol are legal....he went into saying that pot has an effect on your teeth. this i did not know.
Death sure from overdosing. Definitely wanna stop shooting up...
