clonodine, helped me so much for the heart pounding, and also with the withdrawal .you must be careful though as worried said, your blood pressure can drop and that can be dangerous.when i was in rehab they would check your blood pressure before giving you this med.
is klonopin a med they give for sezuries? (sp). I think I was talked into taking it once to get high on. Dumb idea. I do not remember most of the day. My friend fell out in the pizzia hut bathroom with his pills all over the floor. What a nightmare. Not sure how we did not end up in jail.
ya that was supposed to be colondine needs to be tapered bad typo bad typo LOL
it does not have to be a long taper ya just don't want to stop it abruptly cuz it could cause a spike in blood pressure
Clonidine is not addicting but if u use it for a prolonged period tapering is suggested due to bp problems/and should not be used by people with low blood pressure/bp/as it lowers bp...klonopin/ a benzo that is long acting/ is extremely addicting and must be tapered
You have to taper off of both drugs when you stop the coladine it does not have to be tapered if not you cloud have a spike in BP and as everyone has said kolonpin has to be tapered slowly
nevre cold turkey from benzos nor trams...it is a health risk and tapering is the only way to quit...with ur doctos supervision
Also PLEASE do not go cold turkey no matter what anyone tells you...Benzo's are different than opiates and are very VERY dangerous... I had a life threatening siezure while withdrawing...you are going to expierence withdraws regaurdless of whether or not you cold turkey or taper, but you are MUCH safer to taper...talk to your doctor and see what they can do to help... again PLEASE feel free to ask me anything at all. God Bless.
I was on very high amounts of xanax, and they took me off cold turkey in detox...It was by far the worst expeirence of my life.I am on day 45 and I still have withdraw symptoms. Thats why I said that clonodine may help. It helped me a little bit... it's not amazing and doesn't take away all withdraw symtoms but it does ease the symptoms. If you have anyyy questions at all please feel free to ask me..I was not on Klonopin but was on Xanax, and they are both benzos and both a very similar drug. Good luck.
I think it will help u alot...not an addicting drug..will help the anxiety and sleep issues...be safe
I am really not sure about the clonodine, i did take it during w/d's, but didn't have to taper from it....As far as the klonopin that is a whole other ball game...I was also on it for about 3 yrs...I did not take it everyday, and it was not my DOC, but i stopped it c/t...It was the worst w/d's of my life...Even coming off of insane amounts of opiates c/t, was not as bad as the w/d's from klonopin...I sure wish the doctor would have told me to taper...This happened 4 yrs ago, and i will never go through that again..So whenever i see a post like this i have to respond...Please try to take the taper very slow, tell the doctor how you feel , keep a log about your symptoms...hopefully others who have experience with this can help you...I hope things get better for you!!!!

wow, I really dont know whats wrong with me. I completely misread the 1st post which makes my complete post irrelevant...so sorry !
klonopin and clonodine are not the same thing, not even remotely.
And yes If and when you ever stop taking Klonopin you will need to taper.
AND...FYI clonodine is bot a benzo, its for high blood pressure
When I was in rehab they put me on clonodine..it helped me alot. I would def.take it. I took it for the first 4 days I was in there, then they took me off. they did not wean me or anything..I am not sure if it is habit forming but I did not expierence more w.ds when they took me off of it. Benzos I am told are one of the hardest things to come off of...I would recommend taking the clonodine. Hang in there, I know exactly what u are going through and it does get better!!
