siezures during withdrawls

I had run out of oxycodone back in the summer and was only on my second day of withdrawl symptoms. I blacked out, fell to floor and starting convulsing. The people I was with kept calling my name to wake me up, just when I started coming out of it I blacked out a second time a convulsed again. When I finally came to I felt a little tired but good. Is this common at all?

I do not drink or take xanax or any other medicines that you listed above. I did not discuss this with my Doctor.

I did not tell the Dr. and refused to go to the hospital when the ambulance came. I didn't want to deal with tests etc...

No, it's not common at all. Did you see a doctor after this episode? You may have a low seizure threshold and it would be of benefit to you to get that confirmed.

joeyst was taking very high doses of tramadol. there is definitely risk of seizures from too high a dose of tramadol and also when quitting too quickly. not the same as oxys.

seizures are not common during opiate withdrawal. were you using any xanax, alcohol or barbituates? seizures are symptoms of withdrawal from any of these.do you have any underlying epilepsy?
do you see the doctor and discuss the seizures with him?
are you still using the oxys now?

Seizures aren't common with opiate w/d, unless there is some underlying medical condition that could be exacerbated by the w/d's.  Other meds could cause seizures during w/d's, like benzos.  Were you taking anything else?  What did the doctor say?
