sister a heroin addict & 25wk preg. will ibogaine help?

hello I am extremely concerned for my sister and her unborn baby she is heroin addict(iv) and also snorts zanax.I have been saving up money to send her to a ibogaine clinic in mexico because at the rate she is going she wont live another year but she just recently found out she is pregnant and is to far along to get an abortion.If she takes ibogaine to stop her drug use and withdrawl symptoms will it also stop the baby from withdrawls?Is it safe for the baby to even take ibogaine?My sister is to far gone to try and stop using  drugs on her own plus I read that the baby could die from withdrawl so I am trying to see what would be the safest option for her and her baby and what will cause the least amount of damage to both of them.I had a shoulder replacement and eventually became dependant/addicted to pills and had to get on methadone when I was pregnant with my daughter because I was told by my doctor that it was the safest option for my unborn baby.I watched my baby go through respitory problems and withdrawl when she was born,she spent almost 2 months in nicu it was by far the hardest thing I have ever had to go through in my life and I will never forgive myself for putting my baby through that.anyways I dont want my sister to have to go through what i went through and I certainly do not want her baby to suffer.. if anyone knows a better option or knows about taking ibogaine while pregnant PLEASE LET ME KNOWive searched all over the web and have not been able to find out very much about ibogaine use during pregnancy or the harms/effects it has on pregnant women/babies...THANK YOU!

Ibogain is not something that should be taken by pregnant women.

thank you and I appreciate the advice as far as I go I never got into drugs to get a high or for recreational use I was put on opiates for a shattered shoulder and shoulder replacement so aside from dealing with the physical aspects of addiction I have never really had a issue.As cliche as it may sound my kids mean the world to me and there isnt a chance in hell I would jepordize that with pills,drugs,or anything else been clean for 6+years. As far as my sister goes your right just took her to get a sonogram to see exactly how far along she is and she was more concerned about how can she do drugs and what will happen to her drug use then the fact that there is a tiny innocent little fully formed baby inside her...I am just flat out angry with her.I dont help because of her I help because my mother has alot of health issues & has already had a nervous breakdown a couple years ago because of my sister,I have to step in unfortunately my parents wont kick her out because they think like every other parent and think that if they kick her out she will die.what they fail to realize is that she can die in their home just as well....its an all around crappy situation

Your sister needs to talk with her OBGYN and get honest. PLEASE do NOT go to Mexico and get some drug for her. That is insane!! And oh so very dangerous!! Do the right thing and get her to a doctor.

Hi and welcome. Save your money. If your sister goes anywhere and she's not ready, she'll use again as soon as she gets out.

I'm sure you know as an addict yourself that the only person who can get an addict clean is themselves. Notice how it's you who is on this site desperate, not your sister.

You need to have support, and being an addict I hope you are in a program. Since your sister's behavior is driving you nuts (very understandable) you need to go to alanon. Get help for your powerlessness. Which you are. There is nothing you can do. You can, however, be an example of the sober life that she can observe. Alanon will help you re-direct your energy: you can't save your sister, you can't save her baby, but you can save YOUR sanity.
