soma

by m_i_strongenuf, Dec 19, 2007 01:43AM
Hi all!
Anyway, I was wondering if any of you have experience with Soma? I take trazadone to help me sleep, but it's not really working right now? I was just wondering how soma does for sleeping. I used to take Flexiril and it would make me very sleepy (for days though!). I haven't had a whole nights sleep in over a month.

I haven't been around lately...ashamed & crying. It was stupid, hubby's Christmas party in Oregon, young & flirtatious girl. Old, old incident...nothing happened between them, but she tried one day a couple months ago when they had a meeting down there. She said she wanted to talk to him privately after work, could they get a drink? He said "no" because she is an employee and we've already had "that" issue! I was so worked up about having to be there, especially in my state of mind, I took a **** load of Tram's. I didn't want to, but I did it anyway! It was so stupid!!! I fell and hurt myself that night too, Just said I slipped due to wearing heels. So, that's that and I now need to start all over!

I have missed you guys and I really hope you're doing better than me. I really have to get off this ****, I'm killing myself!! My heart is with you all,

Feel a hug!

just remember, relapse is sometimes part of recovery.  you're ok: you came back, you recognize a "trigger", you're a smarter person because of the experience.  soma has a tendency to produce a euphoric feeling, especially when combined with an opiate (even with tramadol). be careful... and if you still decide to try it- watch your dose, it'll make you have those blackouts. i think you know what I'm talking about.  do you have anything else to sleep?

well, like I said, I've been taking Trazadone for years and i've been taking more at a time because I can't sleep...well of course they won't refill yet, which is fine, if it doesn't work right now what's the point.

Now, you say euphoric, I thought Soma was a muscle relaxant? and I wouldn't take it until I was getting into bed, do you still think it might do that?

soma IS a muscle relaxant, yes.   I know when I would take soma by itself , as prescribed, it would "knock me out".  but when I took it with a narcotic (and I would try mixing either darvocets/ lortabs/ norcos/ or ultracets) it would give me an indescribable "high"- one that seemed to intensify the narcotic. which was great for me b/c then i wouldn't have to take/waste as much of the narcotic to get that "warm-fuzzy".  that's what i'm afraid of FOR you.  if you're still taking a narcotic, and I know what feeling the two give. for me, the feeling was a good one, is all I'm saying... I tried flexeril too, they'd knock me out no matter what i had in my system.  hubby has a script for trazadone here, i tried it, i understand about needing more to feel any relief.  but that is what got me into trouble to start, so i know that med is probably not one i wanna switch to. and i read a side effect of the trazodone is 'lack of sex-drive'.  i'm afraid of going there too, my life's already screwed from the other drugs..lol. i hope this sheds a little light. _rebel

yes, trazadone can mess with your sex drive, but i've been on the same dosage for so long it's not a factor anymore. At All! LOL

well, I don't think I want to go with Soma. The thought of adding something like that could be devastating to my already "fragile state". I will ask the Dr. for a couple flexiril, that should be good. I really want to go c/t this week, but I'm going to have to be able to sleep at night or I won't be able to do it!

soma gave me a huge buzz at times, yet at other times just made me feel relaxed. if anything, it will help with sleep. but start with one at first, with some food

I was prescribed soma 3-4 per day and vicodin 3-4 per day for SEVEN years...by my Rheumy. I JUST recently detoxed from both and am on day 11 from the Soma and day 7 from the vicodin. I want to tell you the soma was not as hard for me to get off of as the vicodin ...but everyone is different....Yes, it gave me a huge "high" and the feeling I could do ANYTHING...My house was SO clean...I remodeled my entire kitchen...pretty much BY myself in a week. lol lol Hey, the drugs helped me there. But soma does play games with your head. I was getting them from my best friend when I'd run out early. NOT the best thing to be on in my book...And yes if taken alone they WILL knock you out. OK hope this helps...MERRY CHRISTMAS   Precious Pearl
