started new meds but need help still i need addvice

As of today is my second day with WD and the 4th try
I got put on clonidine,promethazine seroquel and hydroxyz pam.  
I had a hard day yesterday was hard but to day I'm doin good. I was scared to start these but now I'm doin okay.
I keep thinking of takeing a pill but i know i can't for my family.  How do i get rid of thinking of the pills.  I hate haveing this black cloude over my head.  Iam lost in my addiction.

HI how you feeling on the meds the seraqil will nock you out and the cladine helps a lot with the creepy crawly feeling this stuff shoud get you over the hump just be ready for the mental side of things to start coming at you....time to look into some form of aftercare b/4 you need it

Do aak, bare in mind there are also other meds prescribed along with it. So be sure to get a doctor that knows his stuff. Never lose hope lady. We are people not statistics, the human spirit can be strong. I'd also recommend Niacin for the chills. Helps a bit & anything that takes the edge off. It's an old remedy, but effective in my experience none the less. But remember the detox is just the beginning. Good luck, warm thoughts!

I think I'm going to ask the doc for these meds, I have also heard great things about the clonidine.I gotta do something..I'm losing hope. This **** is sooo frickin hard to kick. I've watched people die from this addiction and I don't want to be one of them.

hi and welcome to the forum .....where all about recovery here congrats on your clean time it gets ez as you fgo along but as addicts we need to change the very way we think to overcome this as a whole the forum recamends  some form of aftercare both N/A and A/A are free and a good place to start you will learn the skills and tools necessary to stay clean
addiction just dosent go away because you quit the pills you need to treat the illness witch goes much deeper with a little help you can live in recovery and will only get bothered occasionally by cravings become pro /active in your recovery good luck and God bless......Gnarly

If I could only have one med to detox with it would be Clonidine. Though it makes you extremely weak, and your blood pressure must be monitor, because it is a pill for high blood pressure. Its nothing that I could have taken and been active in any way and only stayed on it for the hardest part of my detox. Still, it's cheap, easily available through a doctor and very effective. For myself it really helped regulate my body temp & that was the part of detox I always hated the most. It also wiped me out so that I was able to get some rest and eat a little. However I don't recommend staying on it longer than need be, because it tends to impede one from getting up and moving around, getting any excersize. And no matter how unappealing that may seem, it is one of the best things for detox, both physically and mentally. Best of luck, feel free to inbox me and be safe. See a doctor, don't try to get this off the street. Do this as your doc prescibes. There is no easy detox, this just made some of mine withstandable.

The clonidine is worth it it helps with the body stuff.and all the other meds help too. I listed all the things the doctor put me on and they all help with the physical stuff.  Please ask ur doctor for all 4meds the do help.

Hey mommy...so I am 6 days clean...oh god..its been awful, yesterday felt good..today feel back to square one! I have an appointment with my back doc tomorrow and other wonderul friends on this site has suggested clonidine...what does it do for you? Or how does it make u feel? Is it worth me asking to help get thru the S@@t?
