I was taking 120 mg of oxy a day. That's the way it was prescribed, but of course many times I took more. Did that for 2 years, Vicodin for many years before that. I tapered down to 45 mg a day a just jumped off 22 days ago.
I have cancer and bone pain which complicates things , like some of your health issues.
It's not been that long for me, but already I don't miss counting pills before my next refill. Such freedom.
I'm still in pain, but trying to meditate, eat better, and do things for a diversion.
If I can do it, I'm sure you can. I'm going to start going to NA meetings again after my 10 day guest leaves.
Joanie:
You might want to consider getting a second opinion. Are you in the United States? The reason I ask is that I'm surprised a physician would prescribe phenobarbital to control seizures. Opiate withdrawal usually does not cause seizures, and even if you were at risk, there are other anti-seizure meds that are better tolerated, and NON-addicting.
Is this doctor a pain management specialist? Please consider consulting one; you have multiple issues going on and should choose your course of treatment carefully.
Hi sub is not for pain it is a replacement therapy for your oxy addiction to me it would be like jumping into the fire and you dont need sub for a 60mg oxy habit with all your health ishuse it may be best if you go into a hospital to detox but then there talking about a morphine pump??? this all sounds to me like they dont know what there doing I would get a second opinion .......Gnarly
Joanie, I'm a little confused. Your doctor thinks you'll get better pain relief from Suboxone? Compared to a morphine pump? I don't understand the in patient hospitalization either. All for 60mg of oxycodone?
When a person switches over to suboxone, it's necessary to be in moderate withdrawals...Are you aware of that?
