stealing meds

I have been stealing my stepmother meds and I can't stop. They are dilaudid 4s and I inject them and I want to stop so bad not only do I hate being a drug addict what's worse is the guilt I'm going through for taking them and I know my dad is going to find out and be so disappointed in me. I know I should tell him before he finds out on his own but I'm such a chicken **** I'm 40 and I have been shooting heroin for 2 years but can't get it anymore. I know I need to stop before it kills me. I don't want to die but I feel like I'm dying of shame please help

You're here and you're reaching out for help,that's the first step. The second step is telling your stepmother so she can make sure you can't get at the drugs anymore. You need to get yourself into an aftercare program. Cut off any contacts you have at getting any drugs at all. Get yourself some immodium,Gatorade,melatonin for sleep,Epsom salts for hot baths to help with the rls. Get through the detox. And get yourself to meetings and get a sponser. You don't have to live this way. We will all be here for you,stick close to this site and keep us posted on what's happening. You need to come clean with your step mum though so you don't have access anymore.
