I am very addicted to Vicodin, and I filled refills that belonged to my man's mom. The cops have found out. I am in recovery now, do you think I will be charged? I have already been charged for having scripts of my own that overlapped. Drugs have almost destroyed me, and I wonder how much legal trouble I am in now.

The last time I did the script thing was 9/14/07. I am in counseling, and going to NA/AA meetings. The police told me on the first charges I would get ordered counseling, now with the script thing, I'm afraid I will go to jail. What do you think?

what is an overlapping script??? wew i am sure we have all done these things, Cops may knock at my door one day...

i don't know the law, is your mother in law pressing charges against you? i am glad you are clean

It's when you have more than one script being filled either by the same or diffrent dr, just at diffrent pharmacies...I did it B4 and told some lie and got out of it somehow.. Damn I wish I knew what I said,LOL

Punk do you mean you had over lapping scripts from different doctors, as I don't see it being a problem if you have overlapping scripts are from the same Doc, It would be the pharmacy that would be the ones to monitor your scripts to see if you are getting them to early and would decline if it was lets say more than three days early, Are you a cash pay customer w/pharmacy or do you have insurance. Also do you pharmacy shop.What state is this going on in. Is it a felony charge you are looking at or not. Sounds like your Doctor shopping and got caught. Doctor shopping if you never heard of it is seeing more than one Doctor within a 30 day period to obtain a drug in the same class as vicodin, or any other drug that is controlled by the DEA. If you should get arrested make sure or at least try to get a private attorney who has experience in the particular area. Did you try and play it slick and pay cash for some and insurance for others at different pharmacies?  Let me know I may be able to Help with legal advise. Which may require an inpatient detox, Judges love to hear that chit.

Yes, I went to different doctor's and pharmacies. The police told me I'm not going to be in trouble for that, just will have to continue my counseling. But, now they have found out about me filling scripts that weren't mine, and I'm scared. I have told the police about my addiction, should I just be honest about it again with these new charges? I was indicted on the doctor shopping, and I' afraid I will be again on these script charges. The doctor shopping charges are a felony 5, not sure on the others. I live in ohio, any legal advise would be GREATLY appreciated!

hi there!  i have a friend who wz working at a phcy stealing pills. Vicodin, percs,xanax mostly and w/in 3 mos of them transferring her to a new phcy she had stolen over 10 grand in pills.  The reason they transferred her wz because the other phcy didn't have any survelence cameras and had a feeling she wz steeling but couldn't prove it.  SHe had worked at that one for at least 5yrs.  So yuo can imagine how much she stole from them ... she wz in chg of ordering the drugs, logging them in and putting them away.  I don't know what she wz thinking because her and i both worked at a phcy software company and the pchy she wz at used OUR sw.  Anyways, all pharmacies have to run a controlled substance and schedule II report on a daily basis and have those accessible at all times in case they are audited by the state or DEA.  She was charged w/embezzelment and served NO time as long as she agreed to go into in patient rehab and was on probation afterwards.  PLus she had no other felonies or misdemeanors against her ..  I would definately get yourself a lawyer, you will need one.  I'm sure if you agree to re-hab they may  not pursue anyother charges.  What were you charged for on the first one? was it a felony?  I don't know why i told you all of this but it sometimes helps to read stuff like that in case you or anyone you know may be thinking these things ... i wish you the best of luck and hopefully you won't go to jail just rehab and probation .. let me know what state you're in .. i can try to get more info regarding this from some of the people i used to work at the phcy sw company. What state do you live in?

my aunt is a nurse.  They have a program for the state of michigan, not sure what it is called but it is a print out of the dr's patients that get narcotics filled and also shows if they are getting them filled from any other doctor too.  so basically she goes thru this report and finds the ones who are using more than their one physician and has to report them.  The state will put a red flag on your name when you go to get scripts filled ...  My brothers girlfriend has been doing this for the last 10 1/2 mos he's been with her.  She's been in 5=6 diff hospitals using her name and fake names w/fake soc sec#'s and wz almost caught.  i wish she would of been because she is trying to drag my bro into this mess and me ... she's asked me to take  her and when i did the first time i went in w/her and realized she gave them a diff last name .. it wz her maiden name but still and a fake ss#.  she said if they asked me any questions to just go along w/it ... NOT!!!!! i will not be associated w/that ... since i wz trying myself to get off pills and getting ready to take suboxone which i and her dr's talked to her about 3 or 4 times.  so, I left!  just up and left her there ... didn't want to be a part of that ... so far she's been lucky....but what she does'n't know is what may be going on behind the scenes as far as the state monitoring her and all .. it may catch up w/her in a month, a day, a year...who knows.  She is now takin methadone and still getting scripts for vicodin  filled w/other dr's ... anyways ...

Okay Punk, Did you pick up refills or you stole your moms Bo's script ? In any case you have crossed over to a felony 3, If they charge you with obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. If you broke probation at the time of this second or quite possibly 3 years has not passed since your last conviction. Then you have problems my friend got for his first offense for filing a stolen script, he never even got the Xanax he left the pharmacy as he got to nervous. Then 10 days later he was arrested at home and charged with, attempting to obtain a controlled substance by fraud. He was given 18 months probation. After six months he left the state for vacation and got ratted out by girlfriend. He was rearrested in Mass and brought to FL. His bail was denied as he broke probation.
To make a long story short he got 1year and 1day in state prison, When he got out he was finally clean for the first time in 5 years. At last the drugs were out of his system. And is clean to this day.
I'm not sure about Ohio, Go to your yahoo browser if you have yahoo, and type in Ohio prescription monitoring systems, I did it a minute ago it listed  several different web sites that may be helpful for you. Before you get arrested get a free consultation with an attorney that will tell you what your facing, write down questions and take notes. Even if you have no intention of hiring a private attorney you can still get some valuable information for free. Tell him you discuss it with your family and you will get back to him. I personally detox asap or I should say go to detox and get clean because you don't want go to jail dope sick. It is time to take responsibility for your actions you sound as though your still young enough that a year or two out of your life will fly by, When you go to court ask the Judge for drug treatment, Be honest with them as you asked because you are not their first rodeo. I see that many other people here are trying to help you as well. But the fact is punk you were given a chance and you f***ed up. But you have to come to terms with the fact that you have a decease that there is no known cure for, only remission just like a cancer soo to speak. There is no guarantee that is wont come back. What you should be saying in your post is that you are sick and tired of being sick and tired. I really did not pick up on this from you, Say, If I get out of this one god please help me to lead a more productive life. Surrender to you decease and ask the courts for help ask your clergy if you have one, Have you ever gone inpatient at a detox facility, and do you have insurance, If your in detox the cops cannot drag you out and arrest you. Hopefully this is an option for you. Do you want to stop and will you do whatever you have to do to get clean once and for all. Or are you just trying to save your *ss because this is it my friend you cant take back what you have done. I'll pray for you that you find peace and serenity and SOBRIETY-----NOAH

I picked up the scripts. I am in outpatient treatment right now, and am attending 2 NA and an AA meeting each week also. I go to court on the first charges tomorrow, then have to go to speak with the police regarding the scripts I picked up. I was getting online and refilling her stuff that way, then would go pick it up. It was stupid, but I was taking between 200 and 300 500mgs per week. It had a hold on me that I couldn't stop! I have only been clean AGAIN for 2 days. I keep relapsing, and a girl at a meeting 2 days ago gave me some pills, great meeting huh?  
I just am hoping that if I am honest about my addiction, tell the cops I'm in treatment, maybe I can only get probation. I am 34 and I have a 6 yr. old son at home that needs me

I've been there prescription fruad. What do I tell you. Go to a real rehab first, police should not follow you there or find out. Get clean, get fighting, get a lawyer, do not admit **** to the police. Police want one thing a conviction. Have your attorney present what needs to be presented to the police. I know you admited some stuff already, stop while you are ahead. Police are not social workers!!!

Get family support, your ill need help and you take it from there repay them1

Yes, I was indicted today on 13 counts of deception to obtain , as well as fraud,,,pretty much i'm f****. I am also a coke addict,,and I want to call my guy soooooo bad right now,,,,I can't take al this ****!

No I did not have to go to jail, i was going to drug court for years. I did have a medical reason for taking. Monthly Doctor check, go to NA ad some others things. I got caught for 5 fraudualent scripts. Your more complicated. I did not have a record. What I said in my post is good advice.  I got 8 months that I served as suicicde line person answerere.
Get well in rehab, then go fight, your addtion can mitagate yout sentence but let your lawyer tell your story. Police are not socal workers. My attorney said never never never never never never never never never talk to the police.
