stomach pain and hydrocodone

by sweetieneedshelp, Jun 27, 2009 04:51PM
I'm tapering my 10/650 hydrocodones and I'm getting horrible stomach cramps! Is this normal? If so how long will it last? I was taking 4 1/2 -6 a day and I'm trying to just take 3 now. But the stomch pain is so bad I ended up taking 4 1/2 again today and it didn't get rid of it, just made it more bearable. I don't want to go through this every time I lower my dose... I'd rather just quit cold turkey and get it over with... Help! thanx

It sure is and it will probably stay until you are all the way off the meds.If you think you can CT that might be the best for you .

I have to shadow that...I've been there too. It's a mindset. Either way, it's going to be bad. Stay addicted, and remain there, or bear with it and eventually come out the other side clean and feeling better. And you will. In about 7 days, take them one by one you will feel so much better. You won't be perfect because there is a lot to repair. But the main symptoms will have subsided. Hang tough.

I agree with some of what they're telling you here. I'm tapering myself off of a year long daily use of Percocet, and I received the HORRIBLE cramps just as you are here. The only thing is, is that it was horribly bad the first day, and "basically" I'm on my second day of tapering and they HAVE gotten better than they were yesterday. The only thing that I've realized in my journey to get off of these medications, is that everyone handles things in a different way. Meaning, that everyone seems to endure similar side effects from tapering and/or quitting cold turkey.. But there are more differences than there are similarities, if that makes sense.

If you don't mind me asking - Are you trying to quit the pills all together? And also, why are you taking the pills in the first place?
