stopping vicodin while pregnant

So i see there's a bit of a debate going on here but I need to ask a few questions because you DO seem to know your "stuff". I think the comment on how most people that post on here do so because they don't want to report to their Doctors let alone let family and friends know. I am one of those. Especially because I am 20 weeks pregnant. So far I've been able to go from about 12 percocet 10's to about 6-8 vicodin. A much lower dose. I'm not getting the "high" that I use to enjoy so much- (sad to say that) but we're being honest here right?- So now I'm just taking the vicodin to just get throught he day and it's fine. Can I just stop when I run out which will be by tommorrow? I can deal with the W/D but am very worried about the baby. Will she be going throught he same symptoms as me or will it be much more minor? Could this be fatal for the baby? If anyone knows anything that could help me I would appreciate it beyond words. I plan to go with the "I have the flu" excuse to my family etc and know I can handle it- but as I said- what about my little one? Thank you so much for listening.

I was addicted to Oxys when I found out I was pregnant. I got on the methadone program and weaned myself down. I was on 4mls when my son was born. I found that the methadone doctor helped me find the right schedule for me and that methadone was safer for the baby then the pills I was taking. I wanted to quit CT but when I talked to a doctor I was told its very very dangerous for the baby. Please consider talking to your doctor or maybe even a different doctor. If you must stay in this alone please be safe, take your prenatals and frolic acid for the baby's health and yours. Feel free to message me of you have any questions. I know it's a hard road but you can do it. We are here to support you!

PLEASE think about being honest with your doctor...I know it is hard and scary...but that way you and baby are getting the care and guidance you need.  Just give it some thought.

Also...1234betterlife will be a HUGE asset to you.

Be very proud of yourself for wanting to do the right thing as hard as it is...you've already made some pretty big changes...from the Percs to the Vicodins...and the amount...way to go.

Wishing the best for you and your baby...you aren't the first, nor will you be the last expecting woman on opiates....with your determination, things will turn out just fine.

Take Care.
