thanks i feel just terrible, of course if i had the pills not my wife i would go ahead and take some more then my schudule, but i think we need to rewrite a new schudule, i feel just awful i had a feeling i was going to taper too quick, but i thought my partner would just think i am trying to make it longer so i can take them more, i am not putting the blame on her at all, but i felt pressured

if you have enough, I would try half a pill a week.  Are you the one with the wife that is a nurse???

Hi there~ it does sound as if you may have gone down too far, too fast...however, I think that Coolio has a great idea; call in to work with "the flu" and just ride it out. It sounds like you're so close! I mean I pill every three days is Awsome!!

I know it's painful (we all do), but if you're wife didn't have the pills, you'd probably be back to square one like me. I wish I could give them over to hubby, it's too easy to cheat on the taper, but he's gone to other states for days at a time so it wouldn't really work all that well.

Keep strong! We're all here for ya!

Wanna know what I did?
I went from taking 3 pills (tramadol) a day for 2 years, consistently..
I weaned down to 2.5 until my body adjusted to THAT.. as soon as I started feeling better, and my body was 'okay' with it, I weaned another half.. Then I was down to 2 pills per day.. when my body adjusted to THAT, I weaned down to 1.5 pills per day.. (usually takes about 2-3 days for our bodies to get used to it) After my body adjusted to THAT, I weaned down to just one pill a day.. HALF in the morning, and HALF at night- my body adjusted to it within a couple of days, then I weaned down to 3/4 of a pill.. did THAT for a few days, then I went down to a HALF, then off altogether! Don't forget your nightly dose though.. definitely don't wanna do that- that's when your body isn't so busy and it's then concentrating too much.. :D.. trust me, never forget the nightly dose..
Withdrawals, if any, will be from mild to painless when you wean down like that..
What were you taking, if ya don't mind me asking? And how much for how long? Months, years? Better to determine it that way..
Ttys!

help!  I am 4 days into a cold turkey quit (hydrocodone, about 5 or 6 a day 10mg..) I feel soooo bad...I have 5 pills in my purse, I have not touched them!  my question is:  If I take a half a pill right now, to ease my withdrawal....will I have to start all over? any advice? I love this site, I am so glad I found it

If you are 4 days into C/T .....oh, no.........don't do it...You are sooooo close to getting over the worst.  Now the lack of energy and sleep will take some time, but I wouldn't do it, and I would get rid of the 5 too...........

Congrats on day 4..........

Hi, I am also on a taper program. You are tapering to fast. My taper has taken 6 months. I was on norco and oxy. The norco was easy to taper but the oxy was a little tough. The norco i was able to taper off weekly and the norco I tapered off monthly. After your first taper do not taper again until the withdrawals are over. That is usually about a week of simple withdrawals; headache and some loss of sleep and maybe less appetite. I think a big problem you are having is because you were on a pretty lo dose of meds to begin with so every little bit of meds your body is missing you notice more. I am currently only on 1 norco a day. 1/2 pill in morning and 1/2 pill at night and next thursday will be my final taper to nothing. Just hang in there and dont taper again untill your body is use to what you are taking now.
