sub covering cravings

I got on suboxone in February with the expectation that it would help me stay clean by reducing cravings and that general opiate malaise, I'm sure we're all so fond of. I'll put it like this a literally hate taking my subs i always wait until I'm good and sick to dose, just because sub makes me feel so cappy now. Well that waiting opens up other windows, and I've fallen off the wagon a few times in the last 2 months. I have a screwed up back which lead me down this road, and sub does nothing for that so my doc put me on meloxicam. Which has clearly been eating a whole in my insides, classic symptoms of an upper gi bleed. So is all of this even worth it?  Am i killing myself faster by taking meloxicam? I know I'm a red flagged addict in the system, but is there a doctor on earth who could take pity on my plight and prescibe me an adequate dose of basically anything else and I'll save the meloxicam for breakthrough pain? I'm just sick of this ride that i got on. It's a wild one.

I usually stick to the living with an addict forum, yes most are horror stories, many living with iv heroin addiction.  It's NOT the route to take,  please seek different help.  If you've just started turn back now,  it will own you quick.

"I've had no choice but to take things into my own hands and get some track marks.  I'm not proud of it, just trying to stay on my feet"

You've been on this path a very long time, fly~  It's progressively getting worse if you're shooting dope now.  That's not "trying to stay on your feet"...that's denial at it's finest and a ticket to death's door.

A suggestion...read this thread of yours from last summer......

Sorry i must have posted this one night and forgot,  I've had a ton of other health issues lately and have been more focused on that apparently my pancreas also hates me. Ct scan this week to make sure I'm not dying.  Thanks for the replies,  i wish i had found them sooner as this is all still relevant. As we all know pancreatitus hurts and no one will give me anything for pain just the nausea not to say i don't understand why. But since I've been black balled by the medical community I've had no choice but to take things into my own hands and get some track marks. I'm not proud of it,just trying to stay on my feet. Anyway sorry I'm late to the party i started.

Welcome back dude.  I have been on every NSAID imaginable...including Meloxicam for chronic pain.  I have come full circle after a few years to Ibuprofen 800 mg 3x/dy but MUST take Prevacid daily to prevent ulcers.  You have been thru the mill hon.  Have you taken a Prevacid or any like med while on NSAID's?  I hate to see you back on pain meds when you have fought so hard.  I am the first to say that pain meds have their place, but maybe you need to find a really good pain doc willing to work with you.  Have you tried acupuncture?

Sorry just re-read your post and saw you have back pain. If you're in the sub program I'd really try to take them properly or like you said if you don't then it leads to other things. If this is the case then I'd just stop the subs. They're not working for you the way they should be from the sounds of it? I've never taken them, but what I've heard is they're to be taken for a short time along with counsling and the 12 step program. Taking them on there own won't get you to the end game you need to be at. I hope things work out for you. I know you've been going through this sh!t for awhile now. It's rough rocky road I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy

What is your pain, why do you need such strong pain meds? If you don't mind my asking. I'm a cancer patient now in remission and there are tons of things you can do and natural meds you can take that don't have us taking the opioids anymore. But for your question about meloxicam,it is a strong anti inflammatory and one of the rare but serious side effects is bleeding of the stomach. If this is your case you need to STOP ASAP. It can cause serious issues even death!
