suboxone * 7 days update

suboxone * 7 days update

Hello I just wanted to post an update and clear up any misunderstandings people seemed to have perceived from my last posting. The suboxone really tastes bad and it really gives you headaches but despite these minor side effects, qutting was never a thought that crossed my mind. The cravings disappeared right after I took the first dose. This has to work for me, I have no choice. Ilm addicted to the world now, when you become clean, its like being reborn. its like a whole new world! I have lots of side effects from the suboxone but not as restricting as going through withdrawals. I now pray I can stay like this. How long do people usally stay on this stuff?  Has anyone relapsed while on suboxone?

Um, well usually people who are on Sub don't relapse until they try to actually stop the Sub itself. So, I guess it all depends.. And the shorter you are on the Sub, the better. If you stay on it long, the w.d will be severe. Good luck...

Hi Singlma,   It is a very good way to stop the W/D's.  I got on it to help with an addiction to Oxy.  Worked great ---  until I tapered for 21 days and then jumped off.  OMG -- the W/D's from Sub are worse than Oxy.  I haven't had a crumb of Sub for 22 days now and am still having periodic W/D's -- maybe 2 to 4 hours each day.  My advice and opinion is to start tapering immediately --- the sooner the better.  Get off it as quick as you can.   I learned the hard way - there is NO free ticket in getting off drugs.  It is tough but very doable.  I wish you all the best --- please keep posting and read all of the others posts who were on Sub.

I would love to thank you, you were so much help to me the day before I stated Suboxon. It has helped a lot and  I already started tapering to one and a half.  My withdrawals are not near as bad and I can concentrate.  Its great as long as you have tried everything else and really want to quit. The only bad side effects I have is horrible nightmares.I will post about these later.

Hi there, I was on Sub and ended up relapsing but I think its because I just wasnt done with Opiates yet. I was very impressed with the Sub at first. I thought it was a miracle. Then when I started Tapering My addictive behavior  set in. I tapered down to 2 even 1 mg every other day. I started noticing on the days I didnt take it how tired I felt and quickly caught on that the days I did take it, it was actually getting me high like the opiates did. I noticed mostly energy on the days that I took it more so then the days i didnt. I couldnt believe it. Even 1 mg gave me a buz when I took it every other day. That is powerful stuff. I had to pay a lg. monthly fee in order to keep getting monthly refills so I just quit getting the refills and tapered like i mentioned above until they were gone. Well when they were gone the W/D's werent as bad as going cold turkey from opiates but I did experience mostly the tiredness to the point that I ended up relapsing. Be very careful with Sub.

i agree with girl.  it is very strong stuff and little bits of it gave me a buzz as well.  i took 2 mgs to get me through the worst days of my methadone WDs, and that small amount would keep my Wds at bay for several days!  i am day 20 now no methadone and 4 days since i used 2mgs of sub, and i am still sick.  some people are taking 16mgs a day?  i refuse to believe people don't get high off of that much.  try going without it and you will quickly see the difference.

sooner or later, you will have to go through some pain.  that is the bottom line.

I really wish someone had told me how horrible this would be if I stayed on Sub this long.  Singlema, your cravings stopped and you're "addicted to the world" because Sub is just another Opiate.  People who are on Sub aren't "clean," and that is just my opinion.  When I first started, I thought it was this miracle medication that treated drug addiction.  I didn't know that the point of it was to become a partial replacement for our drug of choice, and bind to the same receptors so that we don't feel withdrawal.  But sooner or later, we have to come off of Sub, too.  I certainly recommend sooner rather than later.  I have been on it for 11 months now, and I can't imagine how I am going to live without it.  Congratulations, pharmaceutical companies, I have a brand new addiction.  So, if you have just gotten on it, please don't end up like me and use it wisely.  Use it just long enough to cover the withdrawal from your previous drug, and once it has left your body, taper the Sub.  Again, I am not a medical professional, and this is only my opinion.  But this is what I wish I would have done.

you don't need to be a professional.  you know from first hand experience!  THEY aren't the ones taking it.

i agree with everything you posted.  the more familiar i become with the Sub the more i suspect it is really just Sub-stituting one habit for another.

Lynn79  you are right on and so good of you to post your experience.  I too make the Sub mistake, thinking it was the perfect answer to W/D from Oxy.  I am at day 22 without any Sub but have suffered so much since I last took it.  It is a demon in disguise and I would tell anyone to think twice before getting on sub.  All the best.

This drug sub was touted as a mircle drug here a few months ago but now too many people are have bad withdrawls from sub usually perscibed by docs that are greedy or just don't know or care. There is no free ride from narcotic addiction . What goes up must come down. Sub may help withdrawls and help people to stabelize but when you come off of it after long term it can be pure hell. There are no miracle drugs for dope addiction but it can be done.
