Hi islandgirlb.  Is the Xanax for anxiety?  Sometimes it is tricky when we have our history and a lot of doctors stay away from that combination.  I'm guessing Adderall is for ADD?  Everything working for you?

I’m prescribed all 3 I dont take the adds hardly  ever . The subs & zs every day ,I use to take more now I  take .50mg zs a day & 1mg sub a day  , mind you I been on this for 5+ yrs I’m about to be 30, I’ve done wayyy more of this party, ((I’m the cool guy all the girls want  me ,,let’s  get ****** up catorgory then  90% of most my age)) I followed the Grateful Dead & all jambands everywhere, meet a lot of ppl   , I’m not a cocky guy whatsoever ever I except everyone for who they are & I base my life on not judging if this comment comes out like I’m a stuck up douche I’m sorry & I promise I’m not loll, but to your question depending on your tolerance & if you & how much you drink alcohol will be a huge factor if not to depends on you , but the I think it’s a VERY a lot of zanax I have HORRIBLE anxiety, called imbalances because I thought I was having a hard attack because of panicking ( not on drugs ) & the highest I took was 3 mg , but cut down on your own speed & time everyone is different and you want to make sure when you do cut off it’s the last everyone does, so take your time & eye on the prize . Best of luck

I could be wring and I hope I am! But sometimes when people are asking this type of questions with broad numbers there is usually a motive. They are being discrete out of fear of ridicule. What they are sometimes hiding are the real question:Is this enough to kill me? Saying "a day" may also be a way to "hide" the real question. This person doesn't really want to die, but I believe they have suicidal tendencies and really just need help. Again I hope I am wrong.

No one here can tell u if its safe because medication amounts and tolerance vary from person to person.I will say thats a lot of xanax(I used to be prescribed 8mg a day).Even when I was popping pain killers like crazy taking the daily dose of 8mg would have knocked me in the dirt(something I never thought then but realize now).I assume the subs are because of an addiction issue.I would say none of this is"safe"if u have addiction issues.

some one i know takes the same thing and same amounts and they vary due to the day because they run a business and are in school  so sometimes needs a lot of energy to get  **** done. all started from steroid withdrawal then they were givin percocet which made energy all come back then percocet was abused far too much till  subs were needed because money ran out the rest is history similar to everyone else's, doctors are money grubers so they over prescribe to get people addicted. Only side effect is head aches some times... but sure there are years of life being lost to this cocktail.

I do not believe that a human brain is designed by nature to function satisfactorily when a person takes Chemicals which have  the paradoxical results.
Therefore if a person needs Stimulants because he suffers from an emotional disorder we have known as ADHD  and the same person needs Buprenorphine ,he should get rid of the addiction to the narcotics before he has to depend upon Stimulants. As far as stimulants are concerned,I do not believe that a daily dose of a powerful stimulant like Adderall  can  enhance  make our brain function better than a continued  persistent effort to achieve a goal cannot  do.
Albert Einstein had an ADHD problem and yet he discovered the Theory of relativity. He also had a form of ADHD disorder. He never took Adderall in his life.
I believe that some people have to work hard because of their disability and while working hard, they discover their new talents.

My old dealer had a siezure from Klonopine and subs, according to the manufacturer, benzo and subs are dangerous, though many uS doctors prescribe them together. With the adderral, that cocktail sounds like a speed ball or cocaine/heroine mixture. I know nothing of your history or reasons for these drugs, so I just shared what I know. I wouldn't stick with that mixture for long, but that's me. I've done all those drugs, but I used methadone, adderral and Xanax together. I was flying high and ready to work, the come down was horrible on many levels.

Hello and welcome!

I'm just curious why you chose an addiction forum to post your question?  Obviously, being on Suboxone, I'm assuming you have a history of addiction?  Can you share a bit about your history?  What you were using and how long?

As for the combination of medications, it IS problematic in many ways.  Are you getting your Suboxone from a Sub clinic?  If so, are they aware of the Xanax?  Almost ALWAYS, a Sub doctor will not prescribe the Sub if a person is taking a benzodiazepine of any sort, due to the very strong contraindication.  Who prescribes the Adderall and Xanax?  The same doctor or more than one?  Is that doctor aware of the suboxone?

I'm also a little curious as to the doses you stated you take.  For starters, the dose of the Suboxone shouldn't be fluctuating, it should be a stable dose.  What is your actual prescribed dose of Sub, and how long have you been on it?  Are you adhering to the dosage instructions?  What were you put on the Subs for?  What kind of opiate were you using that warranted the Suboxone?

Also, the Xanax dose range is quite wide, 4-8 mg.  How is the Xanax prescribed?  Is it Rx'ed "as needed", or are you supposed to take it daily?  How often do you take the Xanax?  You're on a hefty dose, and if you're taking it regularly, you're going to run into some significant issues with dependency and tolerance.  When that happens, the Xanax will exacerbate any symptoms you have (ie anxiety) rather than helping them.  Lastly, it goes without saying that if you have a history of addiction, REALLY both the Adderall AND the Xanax are NOT a good idea.

I hope you're able to clarify some of the info for us so we can try to make some recommendations for you.  Obviously, it goes without saying that the person best suited to answer your question for safety purposes, is the prescribing doctor.  Again, I would be shocked to find out that the Suboxone doctor was okay with the Xanax, especially at such a significant daily dose.

Glad you found us!!

Well, we aren't doctors, not sure how to answer your question. Are these prescribed to you by the SAME doctor? meaning, they are aware you are taking all of these? what are the conditions you have that prompted these scripts? (if not too personal, sorry) and how long have you been on them? meaning have you been on lower doses and these have been upped?
