suboxone question please help

I don't understand why i don't feel better. On august 1st, I quit suboxone at 8mg, I had been taking ALOT of neurontin aka gabapentin during the withdrawal to help with symptoms, I was taking around 6,000 to 7,000 mg a day, somedays even 10,000mg but that amount was very rare. I had been clean for 44 days until I relapsed on 4mg because I didn't know why I felt like crap, I was still taking high doses of neurontin and made it another 20 days or so off suboxone until I relapsed again (4mg), this was about 2 weeks ago, and still i'm taking alot of neurontin. Basically what I am wondering if it is the neurontin causing the mood problems i.e. depression, agitation and restlessness or the suboxone. If it helps any when I took those suboxones they knocked me on my *** as if I had no tolerance. If anyone has any info on whether neurontin can cause these kind of problems I would be very greatful. If there is any confusion I have been taking the high doses of neurontin consistantly through this dilema.

You stopped the Sub at a high dose,in my opinion. Generally it's tapered much lower
than that.

Why are you taking so much Gaba?  That alone will make you feel awful.

Find a compassionate doctor and get these doses straightened out. You'll feel better.
Sub detox DOES take a long time. It doesn't help you at all to keep taking a dose here and there.

Good luck~

I have been on both Suboxone and Subutex for the last 3 years. I have gotten myself down to 2mg of Subutex every 12 hrs and sometimes I can go longer, but it is the worst detox I have ever felt. With such a small dose, you would think that it is a piece of cake, but something about this drug is bad!!!! I cannot get off of it for some reason...I am going to have to go cold turkey, but I am raising my son on my own, have no family and I don't know how I will be able to work and care for him when I feel so horrible!!! Has anyone else detoxed from Subutex before and had these problems?

Seeing my husband go through Sub withdrawal along with reading post from people in the same boat on this forum, I have to guess it's the Suboxone withdrawal causing your depression.  I have never seen my husband cry like this in the 25 years I've known him.  You have to remember than neurontin also works on your central nervous system, so that right there will also mess your emotions.  In other words, you're going to have to get off both the neurontin and the suboxone for a while before your brain chemistry returns to normal.  There just isn't any magic substance that will allow it happen sooner.  Your brain has to heal, and time is the only thing that will do it.  Wean yourself off the neurontin slowly.  That's a medication that should not be discontinued suddenly.
