suboxone question

by addictinrecovery, Oct 18, 2007 01:49PM
Hi- i'm on my second day of suboxone - yesterday I took 4mg in the am & 2mg at 2:30 & 2mg @ 7:30 for a total of 8mg - i was feeling good.  today i woke up with a horrible headache that i still have and i took the 4mg to see if that would help, it didn't and now I feel nauseaus too.  Is this normal?  Will it go away.  Any info would be helpful.  Thanks!

i actually saw my doc this am - had the headache- he said he didn't know what it was from.  possibly not from subox- but i know that's what it's from b/c i've never felt this way before & i just started yesterday.  i can't eat anything w/o throwing up.  but yesterday the subox was really helpful.  i'm so frustrated

I had both a headache and nauseousness on Sub when my dose got lower it went away.. its totally normal especially the headache sub is infamous for that... my doc gave me phergan for the nauseousness.. Motrin helped the headache for the most part. like I said as i got lower on my dose on the 3rd day it got better..
Good luck to you.. I used Sub for 10 days in june and now I have been clean for 4 months.. it helped me get over the detox part, now I can live without drugs.. you will too..

Hello, Ive been on suboxone for 6months headaches are a part of the adjustment process. You may have some opiates left on your receptors. usually they start you on subutex for the induction period for 3 days and then switch to suboxone which contains naloxone an opiate antagonist. This is there so people dont try and shoot the stuff. If they did they would go into instant withdrawals. Take some Motrin like 400mg for the head ache the nausea will pass, call sub help line if you have more questions. www.suboxone.com or 1-877-782-6966 8-8pm EST. PEACE OUT--------NOAH

try spitting out the saliva.  Sometimes it is the extra stuff in the pill that makes people sick.  I've seen a lot of people go through this and spitting always helps.

I'm with FLaddict on this one,  I started my taper on suboxone too high and had one heck of a headache (felt like someone was prying my head apart with a wedge) and also couln't eat for a bit.
