suboxone taper....

I am presently trying to taper myself from 8 mg of suboxone a day. At this point I am breaking the pills into small pieces which are about .25 mg. I am taking one piece per day and I feel okay so far.  I want to stop at this point completely but I am wondering what the withdraw with be like even though I am only on a small amount. I tried not taking any, but I feel just terrible. I need to work and take care of my children. Has anyone experienced coming off of .25 mg Counld you please give me some help. I just want to be free of it all. I have a real fear of it. I never knew such a small little pill could make you feel so horrible. I am buying it illegally and just want it all to end.

I have been taking the suboxone for about 4-5 months. I have been down to .5 mg for a month and recently went down to .25 mg. Which I'm doing by breaking the pills down and its not easy and not exact.
I was using heroin for about a month before taking the suboxone, I started using the suboxone to relieve the withdraw from heroin.
How bad do you think stopping at .25 mg will be for me? Any idea?

How long have u been on the sub?  what was ur original drug of choice and how much?

Hi,   Yes, I heard a term for what you have the other day from a poster - he said his doc told him this is called the "Suboxone Spanking" -  a rather humorous description, but one I too can relate to.   I totally understand why a few weeks back I read about people on this site just taking a 'crumb' of Sub - it is one powerful drug and  a little goes a long way.   The way I was instructed to take it when you get to your level is a 'crumb' every day until a few days goes by and then a 'crumb' every other day.    It will just take a little extra will power to get that last step -- think of how far you have come and just take the next step --- all the best.
