Hi Sugar,
Not sure where you are located, but a regular GP cannot typically prescribe suboxone. Go here and find a suboxone doctor in your area and give them a call. Like Avisg said, many docs do not take insurance, but depending on your addiction and daily habit, suboxone may be a good option for you. Find a doctor and give them a call.

some methedone clinics offer suboxin programs.. but from me and my wifes experience you had to have a referal or be put on a waiting list.. we got put on one and got a call from that drs office over a year later saying they were ready for us.. by that time we were already on the methedone which i i wouldnt reccomend
Personally, I was put on a waiting list for 9 months before I was accepted into the program and now I have been on the program for almost 3 years. It literally saved my life.
First I would make sure that your doctor is legally allowed to prescribe subuxone. Not all doctors can do it. They have to go through a year course in order to be able to handle it.
Second, many, many doctor require that you have to have been to rehab. They want to make sure that you have tried on your own to quit. Only until they think you can't do it on your own and that subuxone is your absolute only alternative will they start you on the program.
If I was you I would go into your doctor and just tell him/her that you have a problem and you need help. There really isn't anything that you can say that will get you put on it. Just be honest, trust me...
What are you taking. How long have you been on it and how much .Most doctors can not prescribe sub it has to be a doctor with special certification. Most sub doctors are expensive and alot do not take ins .Have you tried getting off drug others ways?
