This is a good starting place:

Sub is discussed here a lot.  Feel free to browse the forum, to see what you come up with.  You will get varying opinions from different people.

MY thoughts on it are that it CAN be a helpful tool in recovery, but ONLY when it is managed right, which includes a doctor who works from day ONE to start tapering a person off, who uses the LOWEST possible dose, and who requires drug tests at every visit and therapy.  It's only a TOOL.

Sub should not to be used to AVOID withdrawals, you will eventually have to go through SOME sort of w/d, and some people say that their SUB w/d was worse that their DOC.

Lastly, I feel Sub shoukd be reserved for more serious addictions.  By that, I mean, long term heavy heroin use, Methadone, etc.  I think it's overkilll to use it for w/d from Vicodin, Percocet, etc.

Everyone has to make their own decision when it comes to Sub.  OH, almost forgot, if you don't have insurance to cover it, it is VERY expensive.  What are you looking into Sub for?  Can you share with us the details of your addiction?
