Suboxone is a medication that contains buprenorphine and Naloxone. The naloxone is added to the buprenorphine to lessen the odds that a user will abuse the medication. Because Naloxone can sometimes cause symptoms of opiate withdrawal, pregnant women wanting to take buprenorphine are normally advised to take Subutex instead. Subutex is exactly the same as Suboxone, but it contains no Naloxone, only buprenorphine.
If a women becomes unexpectedly pregnant while taking Suboxone – her doctor will probably recommend that she switch to Subutex, but not switch to methadone or any other form of treatment. Switching after she is already pregnant carries an unacceptable risk of stress on the fetus. If a woman plans on becoming pregnant, her doctor will likely advise that she first switch to methadone or naltrexone before getting pregnant.
still she needs to be talking to the doctor about this and yes subutex its your best bet
the only difference with suboxone and subutex is that suboxone has a added ingredient that makes for a less potential of abuse, and overdose. suboxone is safer and a better choice i believe.
Talk to your doctor about subutex they use that instead of suboxone
Much less harmful then taking the original drug of choice. there isnt much research or whatnot done on suboxone yet for that specific question you have...
I cannot find the exact information but from what I remember seeing in the dosing information on suboxone - they do not exactly know the effects to the fetus and therefore it is not suggested to be taken during pregnancy. I believe subutex is suggested instead of suboxone. Best bet is to talk to your doctor. Really it's is imperative your obgyn knows what's going on. The best thing you can do for the baby is be straight up and honest with your doctor, who will give you a plan and recommendations as to how to proceed. Good luck.
