i'm going to a job today at a house where I know there is a bottle of hydro..  No one will be there and it is going to be so tempting to take a few..  any suggestions to curb my temptations..  gundo

right now tell yourself you will not touch them....do not allow yourself to go near them....this s a hard task but you have to exercise some control and it may as well start now.  first off stealing is against the law and secod do you really want to risk your sobriety and all the progress you are making???no and then you have to deal with the guilt...not good.  and then if you dont take them you will feel so good when you come back here and say  "HEY CATHY...DIDNT DO IT"  come on man you can do it.  prove it to yourself!!!thats real victory.  and i am gunna pray really hard the bottle burns the heck out you if you touch it!!!!!!

whats a few pills going to do a momentary high then what? back to feeling like **** you can do it I have a job on sunday and i know there is drugs there but the thought has not crossed my mind because who wants to feel sick again and have to start all over YOU WILL GET THROUGH THIS!!!!! just pray the whole time your there God will get you through this and just think when your back home the power you will feel SUPERMAN!!!!!WOOOHOOOO!!!!!! now thats hot jk lol

Ok, so where are all these jobs where there are drugs.???  Stay out of Peoples drawers, and cabinets !!!!!   Thats messed up.  I have many a handy man in my home....(eyah, baby)  And never once has one asked to use my bathroom.  Professional People do their duty before they work.  or take a break and go to the local gas station.  I just don't get it.

Just dont take them...i realize there are some situations I have to stay away from and will admit to doing some underhanded things to get pills..and it was disgusting...lying to my doc is on the list...try to limit the situations when u can where u expose yourself to pills..in some professions, this is hard...take that paper u printed and read it right before u go in the house...faith in you

ive told this story before here, but will tell it again...a mom i know noticed that her vicodin was getting low and knew she was not taking that many for her migraines..she suspected her housekeeper was taking them...she set up a hidden camera in her house and caught her red handed just as she suspected. The maid was arrested within hours at another persons house (probably stealing from there too). It was even on our local news , showing the footage of her stealing the pills. She went to jail.

I do like direct approaches naughty...it is true that stealing is very wrong...but I am guilty of rummaging cabinets myself...that does not make it right...It is DISGUSTING!  and one of the reasons I quit...that is just not me...drugs were turning me into a disgusting person..but I was turning myself into a disgusting person by putting them in my mouth..we do have to take responsibility for our actions...pretty or not

I think as addicts we can in a sense......judge other addicts because we know the game.  I've never heard of a quick swift kick in the a*ss  from one addict to another ever hurting anyone.....the most it can do is help. I've needed many swift kicks in my time and I thank those who gave them to me.  Maybe not at the time, but I thank them now.

Heres my take on your situation, How did you know there would be Pills in this house? Took some before  I'll surmise. If there is Pills in this house and your alone you'll look ,and if you look you'll take some.. Maybe not do them right then, but you'll take some. You'll come back on this web-site and tell us all you didn't take any .. All the while you'll have the ill-gotton gains in your possession.... I hope you post and tell me I'm wrong.......  This is why I have 8 pills in my medicine cabinet, so I don't play these games... I do not go through ppls stuff I know there is pills there because my client is elderly I am a very professional person im a chef that has my own business but its kind of hard to miss them when they are siting on her kitchen table see?  I have taken pills before? damn right im a addict and admit to it have never stolen from a client because of my reputation but I STOLE PILLS FROM MY SICK MOTHER!!!!! IM Sick you mean to tell me you had a habit and got your pills legit? come on who's going to believe that if you order them over the internet that also illegal we are addicts we are trying to change its not easy and it doesn't happen over night but by the grace of God I am forgiven

Hey There...yea..temptation is a hard thing to choke back but I agree with some of the other posts..if you get caught, you'll seriously hurt your rep, probaly lose work or worse...

I take one day at a time and only think about that day...stay clean, live strong, be strong..

I just got back from an overnight trip with my husband and when I read this I thought OMG!  I know right where you are coming from.  My dad had chronic pain from being shot in the army and he pretty much had to take something to surviive.  It is totally beyond my grasp how he could take a percocet every day and go without whenever and there her I come, his "sweet young daughter" and get totally hooked after a sinus surgery.  
I do know where you are coming from.  The temptation to "sneak" a few pills because "they will never know", is VERY strong.  Just try your best not to think about it, and we will pray for you.  Even if you fail, please come back.  The only way to get through this is to be totally honest.  I have found this is the place to do that.  Sure there are the ocassional few who are "butts" with their comments, but the majority on here are pulling for each other and here to offer support.
